Oh, I thought that it was something else. Maybe to prevent theft of services.

The few times I've run into one of those, I've found them impenetrable.

You just have to bring the right tool.

Looks like a good device. The whole point is to slow someone down trying to break in. The longer it takes, the greater the risk. Any lock can be broken with time and the proper equipment.

Very true but...

DeWalt cordless cutoff tool and 20 seconds. Lock stays nice and safe in its little box and the swing handle gets sliced right at the pivot. Cordless cutoff tools are becoming a replacement to bolt-cutters. The little bastards can go through anything. Hardened, hardened and shaded shackle locks even cut proof cables are vulnerable. There is a simple way to suppress the sparks and most of the sound too.

You need to look past the door hardware to lock the doors on a trailer. The bolt on disk locks are fugly looking but still hard to cut open. You have to pick, slice in 1/2 or cut the bolt heads off to get past them. Use 2 on each door one high and one low.

I use locks to keep the lazy crooks moving along, and insurance (less than $100/year) in case it is a motivated crook.

For winter storage, a Claymore mine between the wheels comes to mind. Gotta love a device that comes with instructions for aiming "front toward enemy".

Classic! Reminds me of the old Roger Moore James Bond movie (I think it was "For your eyes only") where the burgular alarm on his Lotus blows up the car and the bad guys!

With a Lotus the prince of darkness always prevails.
