I'm thinking it was the wrong wheels for the car (hub-centric / non-hub centric.. you know the drill there, like on a Miata, right Bonnie) or someone else thought corse thread lugs on a find-thread stud. I don't know but it made the rounds on a private speed freak list and we all would like to hear the real story!

The driver is an equal study of mechanics and fashion.

THe lugs were torqued down, but were the wrong ones and were sheered off.
