Default Sunday report card, the good, the bad...

short version:

the good - we got 3rd place (on datalog car showed a 2:00.64 theoretical lap by combining the best segment times) which meant if the car stay together for the 2nd time attack session we would've got the 2nd place). overall we were pleased with the performance. i guesstimate the car ought to break the 2 minute mark and i was very close. the motor was just tired... 50k+ and to my surprised Henry does not even have an oil cooler! ambient temp was quite high, about 95+.

the bad - we lost the engine right after the warm up lap of the 2nd time attack session and made a mess... thinking back, the engine was done already on the final practice session.

more elaborate write up to come.

1) Theoretical laptimes don't mean anything. What is fast through one segment often can slow you down in the segment before or the segment after.

2) No matter what theory says, you would still actually need to drive that 2nd session. Since you didn't get it done in the 1st, why should you expect to get it done in the 2nd?

3) How many cars ran in your class? What class? What was the winning time?

4) Got any more excuses?

5) Still no plans to race W2W?

If I relied on my "best theoretical lap" from my data I would hold the track records for my class at some of the local tracks!

The hard part is putting together all of those "best segments"!

Edit: Darn, Bryan, you beat me!

You'd think that a guy as "fast" and "experienced" as Ghetto Boy would know this. I don't anyone who really is fast that walks around talking about the theoretical laptimes from their DAq system.

If I hadn't been tackled I would have scored a touchdown.

If the keeper hadn't been there I would have scored a goal.

If I had hit the ball just a bit better it would have been a home run.

If I had returned that one shot I would have won the match.

If I hadn't missed that putt my score would have been better.

If I had made that one layup we would have won.

If he hadn't knocked me out I would have won the decision.

Those are for you Frankie in case you pick up some new sports and need some excuses.

Besides the "theoretical lap times" Ghetto managed to "actually" oil down the whole track.
Here is the thread.
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1252683

Here is someone's comments on the whole deal while he was working the track

Posts 23-25. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1252683

Guy had an oil fitting (or similar) come loose in T1, almost spins on the oil, proceeds to the turn 3/4 complex where I was shooting, I tell the corner worker Lin's Subaru is spewing oil, so the flagger waves madly at Frank to stop the car and pull off the track. GR ignores and continues to complete the lap. Shut down the track for 40min as Warren and co. apply buckets of oil dry.

Listening to the flagger curse Frank for either playing dumb or just being clueless (notice the cloud of white smoke following you?...) was hilarious. I wasn't the least bit surprised by Frank. The event ran until almost 6pm because of this.

They even had the ***** to walk out to turn 1 to see what they dropped while Warren was trying to mop up the track. Can't blame the guy for an unexpected oil-down problem; completing the lap and ignoring a flagger trying to get him to pull off a quarter of the way around the track is f00king unbelievable.

A complete F'NG MORON! Total disrespect for the organizers and the other participants, which is no surprise coming from this LOOSER! Then he has the stupidity to post what he "could have done IF his POS car had not F'ed up the entire day for everyone else. He is likely "banned" from yet another group!

Now that I think about it, if my car was a little lighter, and my tires a little newer, and my engine was a bit more powerful....I would be in the SCCA record books still to this day! My theoretical laps based on my best segment times would have sent Peter Gregg packing and we wouldn't be hearing about Brumos Porsche today. BOY, are those guys lucky, or what?

I don't see it as a disrespect. I see it as he is such a ****TY driver that he was OBLIVIOUS to the flags, and to what his own car was doing.

Which, IMO, is far worse & more dangerous.

Yes, I suppose I am giving him too much credit for actually having a clue about what is going on with the car and his driving! Really pathetic after 12 years.....

Walking out onto the track before it closes for the day would get someone permanently banned from most tracks. What a dork.
