You guys crack me up! This thing is still going on? Has anybody noticed that the only time there are a lot of posts to this thing is when it's out of season for track days and races?
Well, since this thread gets so much attention . . . wanted to ask. I'm going to Navarre (near Pensacola, Fort Walton Beach), Florida this Saturday and am spending a few weeks out there. Anybody here live nearby?
I was invited to instruct for Chin Motorsports (www.chinmotorsports.com) at Sebring on December 30-31. We're doing the short course on Saturday, the long course on Sunday. Joshua from Chin sent me a really great video of the track and has given me some pointers. I'll be flying in, so he's been gracsious enough to loan me his Spec Miata to go play for a bit. So . . . any pointers on this track? I know that turn 16 is vicious if you try and save it . . . anything else? I have not been to a new track in ages. This is going to be a blast.
Anyway . . . sorry to rob the thread. It took me nearly an hour to catch up, lol. Definitely PM me or email at bonni at weatherwax dot net if you are going to be at Sebring! I hope to meet some of you.

PS -- I've been reading about him for years, but I finally got to meet Randy Pobst a couple of weeks ago at the 25-hour enduro (NASA event) at Thunderhill. NICE guy!!! And he's dating a competitor (Donna G.) of mine. Wow -- I guess I've had my head in the sand. Donna's already fast enough (ITA Integra type R) . . . with Randy on her side, she'll be untouchable, lol. When he asked who I was, I replied something stupid like, "Oh, I'm a nobody. Nice to finally meet you and congrats on your racing year." DOH! Patrick Dempsey, of "Grey's Anatomy" was also there. He paled in comparison to meeting Randy. Sorry Patrick . . . I don't even watch the show. But I HAVE watched Pobst. Lol!

PS -- NO, I did not ask Randy to sign anything. Albeit he's an outstanding driver, he is still just another racer (and one to be reckoned with -- so I found out in a hurry!).

Chin is a good group. I have instructed for them at the Glen (and Tracquest before that).
Sebring is flat and very bumpy. Despite the bumps, you can carry crazy speed into T1. Heck, it might be flat out in a spec miata. Just get really tight to the inside and dont turn in early. The one other turn is sunset (T17). I personally like a tight inside line. Make sure to almost clip the wall on the inside there as well. You need to trail brake very deep into that turn to be fast. The rest is fairly easy to figure out. Just look for where the curbing is and the line will be pretty obvious.
And if you need more advice, just call Ghetto. I am sure he will drove your car.

No worries, I won't be 'droving' my own car. I live in California , remember? But I'll be on the look-out for crazy drivers.
Pedsurg . . . I'll be out there whenever I can fit in. I look forward to meeting you and your son. I will likely be the chick wearing my Laguna Seca ballcap. I have short redish-blonde hair, about 5-7 tall. Personal vehicle will be my boyfriend's Dodge truck (which I won't take on track, lol). Do come up and say hi!
