Default Track car ideas

Hi Everyone, new to this forum. I am in the process of looking for a track car for my self for lapping days and what not. I am looking at either a 996 987 or c6 corvette. My budget is $30k. I like the Porsches but I think for my price range they're either a bit old or have high miles. What does everyone think about the reliability of the older or higher mileage Porsches for spirited driving? Then there's the $$$ issue of fixing a big problem. Or do you think maybe I can get a better bang for my buck buying the vette?

Thanks in advanced for your opinions.

i think a big question is are you working on your cars yourself? 90% of the cost of replacing stuff on Porsches is gonna be labor because its rear/mid engined. If you replace your own stuff alot of that cost can be taken out.

I've seen C6 Z06s with 40-50,000 miles for sub $30k in my area. 7 liter dry sump V8 making 500hp naturally aspirated! Heck of a track toy for the price.

If you can stretch the budget, this is a solid car and price: https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1126000
