I guess it depends on announcements about the next GT4? Or is the new GT3 with manual gonna keep these GT4s from climbing in price?
both

Up, down, flat…who knows?

The only smart thing to do is add miles to a GT4—that's where the value is. As for price, it seems like the GT4 is following at least one time-worn trend: More options don't translate into more dollars in the second-hand market, with the exceptions of LWBS and PTS for some buyers. Just my take, but it seems like the North American market views the GT4 as a $100,000 car +/-5000—so that loaded GT4s may sell under MSRP and/or take longer to move while low-option cars may sell for more than MSRP and/or take less time to move. That leaves GT4s with middling MSRPs doing just fine. Suspect there are exceptions to both scenarios; mileage and color will have an impact too.

Will be interesting to watch what happens from here. With little else to choose from in the same sphere, with the GT3 line moving upward in $10,000+ leaps, and with the next GT4 expected to have a more exotic NA flat six but also be quite a bit more expensive (think 15-25k), it's a reasonable bet that 981 GT4 prices won't fall off a cliff. I see that as a huge bonus in a car that already offers plenty of value even if it followed typical depreciation curves.

Agree with this. The GT4 remains a very compelling choice for around $100k.

I couldn't find a date, but some of the language indicates it was right after GT4s ceased being produced. With almost 18,000 reads (on something called CarBuzz) it's obviously not new. Well, and by saying GT4s are trading for 115k on average, it's even obviouslier not new.

It sure does, especially if you've come over from years in the 911 neighborhood! It's like selling your 3000 sq. ft. house in Connecticut, moving to Atlanta and getting a nicer 6000 sq ft house and a couple hundred thou back in your pocket.

Lower first cost and less depreciation = winner.

I am a bit biased as the car I spec'ed is about a $94k car with LWBs...

^Except when you sold your CT house you left 10 acres behind and landed on a cul-de-sac.

I, just for fun last week, asked the dealer who sold my car to me what they'd give me in trade. $82,000.
Curious, is your dealer local?

$82k means nothing without some context and is more likely just fishing which typically doesn't relate to a real offer.

Not according to all the Yankee-folk who live around me. Never been to CT myself, but I hear parts of it are near that big city up there.

Yes. The number makes some sense to me, they would probably sell it for 100-105 with new tires. Considering they know I would negotiate a little more that's a pretty expected starting bid.

I believe Porsche has noticed the GT4 demand and those payments over sticker. Their marketing dept will not price a GT car so low next time.

If Porsche decides to add $25k to the next Gen version MSRP that will pull up values on the 2016 version

Not so fast. With a $25k price increase would also come a much improved car, you might see those two factors cancel each other out.
