Default Track pads

I know that there was a tread on this and I could not find it after multiple searches.

What is the best track pad w/ stock rotors. I do not care about brake noise...the car is track only.

Thanks!

IMO it's the Ferodo DS1.11. I am still on my first set of OEM rear rotors if that gives you an idea of how easy they are on rotors. 7+ sets of hoosiers.

I agree with Ferodo DS1.11 if you don't care about noise. If you do, probably PFC 11. Clark at Apex Performance is a sponsor here, sells both (as well as lots of other stuff like the AP Racing rotors and Spiegeler brake lines), and has always treated me very well.

Hi

A related question:

If fronts OEM wear out and rears are still good, should i replace both with matching brands or can i leave the OEM pads in the rear and use some other up front?

Thanks

Run the same pad all around to maintain a similar ratio of mechanical force on the wheels F/R. If you put on higher friction pad that will provide more braking power to just the front wheels for the same brake pressure, then the car will jump into ABS/Ice mode more easily without as much braking assistance from the rear axle and you'll have trouble modulating the brakes.

you could get away with it, but I think you would walk away thinking the OEM setup was better.

I love the Race Technologies (Brembo) RE10. Incredible performance and longevity (pads and rotors).

Could you please share where are you referencing that RT are associated with Brembo?

I use the RE10s and am happy with them. However, my understanding is that Brembo sources from multiple different suppliers depending on use and this linkage was not confirmed or at least un acknowledged given the separate companies. Is there a relationship that has been confirmed?
