update: Track App update issue resolved
UPDATE: Issue is resolved.
After sitting in the car trying for an hour to get the app to function properly, it finally did.
I can not say what specifically I did, besides shutting all off and restarting numerous times.
I am hoping that it was my phone that caused the issue so that none of you have the same experience.
I just updated to the 2.0.1 (March 8 release) and when I went to open the app, it was behaving as if it was my first time using it. It no longer lets me check my records, even the tracks button on the bottom is inactive.
It does not recognize my vehicle, and is behaving as if I need to start over from scratch.
Anyone else have an issue with the update?
Any suggestions of how to recover all my data from my phone?
When I check the phone storage in settings, it shows 40gb of info, I just don't know how to access it.

Oh, gosh, doesn't sound good. When I updated to 2.0.1 all my data was there, but I had much less data than you do. How about making a backup while your 40G is there, delete the app, reinstall it and restore data? I do not know if that would work. Sounds like a lot of time too. Are you on the latest iOS?

Post a question to Porsche about them opening a forum for support for the app. I posted on their facebook post specifically about their app:
Also, 'like' my posts so they get some attention!

OP: another idea...if you have 40G in PTPA, maybe you are close to maxing out memory. Check that out. Also, try opening app in airplane mode and try to get it to connect to your car's wifi. Just trying to brainstorm something that might make it come back to life...

I am familiar with this version of the app and happy to help. Please ping me if you want to troubleshoot.
As for the data sizing... Have you connected to your computer and used iTunes to look at the app data? Everything you ever do will be in there from exports to videos. I clean these out usually daily during track weekends to recover space. The database file that has the actual data is not sizable but videos will be.
Additional edit: And yes, when I moved to the 2.0.1 version it did both recognize my car and then also open their wizard for adding a vehicle. I re-added my car and all my prior data remained available for reference. There are some problems with v2.0.1 like VBO exports now broken, but overall stability has improved.
Also probably worthwhile to reference the continuing thread within the Data Acquisition area: https://rennlist.com/forums/data-acq...available.html

I'm not a fan. IMO this app is an embarrassment to Porsche. At least it now recognizes my car but it really is quite poor when compared with Harry's Lap Timer. I've had every sort of GPS device over the years and still use my original 10hz Driftbox (for reference) and Harry's LT because the video is simple and you can easily send your data out in Vbox format. I've got a 2 camera racelogic unit in my race car but still clamp on my iPhone with Harry's LT from time to time because it does video so well. Just my 2c worth.

2 years later since initial release, Porsche still just needs to refund everyone's money who paid to be their beta tester.

I was going to start a thread named
Porsche Precision Track app for a technically challenged moron.
Then I was going to ask a whole series of questions as I am doing my first event in this car, next week
Sounds like I'd have to be someone like Gene Amdahl or Seymour Cray to figure out how to work this thing🙄
I guess I will just give up ...😏
