Default CCW TS12 Wheels for GT4

I originally purchased a set of 19" OZ wheels for my GT4 having had success with their wheels on my Cayman S. There is a well documented issue with these wheels which is the lack of much clearance between the front brake caliper and the barrel of the wheel. I had a significant buildup of rubber klag between the wheel and caliper and decided to try the CCW wheel. CCW introduced a specific 19" GT4 wheel about a year ago and I decided to try a set. The front wheels are 9" wide with an offset of 51 mm. The rears are 11" with a 44 mm offset. I just completed a trail fit without tires mounted. Everything looks good. There is substantially more clearance on the front brake caliper and the wheels seem to have adequate clearance on the structs. I'm running Tarett rear toe links and there is no issue there. Fit and finish is excellent.

Interesting that they push out the rears another 6mm. Seems most others maintain the OEM offset here.

anxious to hear your thought on 265 vs 235 R7's up front help with understeer.
I assume you will be at the Glen this season?

Forgeline splits the difference between this and OEM at a 47 offset for their 11" wide rear GT4 fitment.

Forgeline makes custom offsets. I know their sales might recommend at times but I have Forgelines on mine and the rears are ET50 11" wide.

I'm planning to run WGI with Metro early June and late August, with RTR in July. I'll be running the 235 F at least once more before trying the 265. This is the first set of Hoosiers I have run, and although they are very fast initially, I'm not convinced they're worth it for DE but am giving them another try.

Great info - thanks for posting. How much do the wheels weigh? Is this CCW's "Corsair" model? I don't see where they list weights on the website (http://www.weldwheels.com/ccwheel/corsair/ts12/).

And my Forgeline GA3Rs are 19x11 ET47, specifically for the GT4 as spec'd by BGB and Forgeline. Fitment is perfect.

Saw a GT4 at Stable Energies in NJ last weekend with 265/35-19 and 296/30-19 R7s. Looked the business. I think this is a popular setup. With the front OD being taller than the rear in this situation, do you have to lower the ride height in the front to restore stock rake?

I found the car had too much oversteer when I drove a friend's car with a 265 F / 285 R setup.

I have a new set of Forgeline GS1Rs in Peal Grey currently at Forgeline waiting on tires. They are 20" but I can't remember the width/offsets. I'll post the info tomorrow.

Yes, The wheels are the Corsair series. Per my bathroom scale, fronts are 20# and R 22#. I'd consider these weights approximate.

Hey Bill, there is a thread on the GT3RS forum about R7's in 235 vs 265 width, saying there is only a minimum difference in tread width (9.25 vs 9.6 inches)

do you think there is much of a difference in grip if the widths are so close in size?

here-- (post #493)
https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...ers-rs-33.html

here is the Hoosier site with tire size info--
http://hoosiertire.com/assets/Circui...%2029%2017.pdf

If grip is the same maybe the OZ with 235's are ok, except for tire clag issue?
