I think the only way I could loose 20 lbs is to die. Well maybe not die, but 110 lbs for 5'9" can't be good.

I don't care about lap times, otherwise I would want bigger wing hanging off the back of the car, not no wing. I am not going to buy titanium lug nuts or anything like that, but if I can save weight and simplify the car I will. Like the FI-R wheels did.

wt is wt.
if you want to ge4t GT4 light. its pretty easy to get it to 2750 lbs. depends on how much you want to sacrifice.

but seriously if you can take 100 lbs out thats great more than that, it's not a street car anymore.

BTDT way too many times.

Yes, I was thinking about the heavy muffler too - has Porsche ever offered a titanium a lighter weight muffler on any of its other models?

Logically, I agree twentyseven.

But this is a passion and if we could save 200#s it would change the car.

Perhaps a wise racer said it much better already, but it does seem to me that weight is not just important, but super-critical. Weight savings effects every aspect of the driving experience from acceleration to deceleration, tire grip and wear, to the overall feel of the car.

Is the GT4 just fine for most everybody the way it is? Absolutely!

Would a few hooligans like me step up if Porsche offered it in an ever lighter Light Weight version with less features, less comforts, and certainly less civilized - Absolutely x 10!. Perhaps less is more in this case.

So far, we've dropped 154#s and thats with MR doors and hood!!!

Well...it's light but not impressive considering no gears, CarbonSport Lightweight wheels for track...probably tubulars and a host of other weighweenie parts you can buy. They are charging that price because is says Bugatti......for comparison I was able to build once a 11.25 lbs bike using readily available parts (expensive ones) with Clincher tires....and the record for geared bikes is well below the 10 lbs.

Ah! the cyclist weight You're already ahead of most then in terms of weight reduction I'm a coupe of inches shorter and could never get under 135 even when I was riding 7000mi/year

Man, that stuff really adds up. I would miss having speakers, though. Sometimes you want some tunes, even in a track car. And/or to be able to hear the navigation audio from your phone.

Dumb question -- do Porsche GTX RS cars come with PCCBs standard?

Did anyone mention smaller gas tank?

No idea of weight savings. I would never opt for smaller tank. Too inconvenient. But it's another place to save an unknown amount of (probably very little) weight.
