Default $75k difference in Topic: GT4 vs 991.2 GT3

My focus was not on the dealership grind but in quantifying the cost to go from GT4 to 991.2 GT3

Generally using $100k for a generic GT4 and $175k for 991.2 GT3 gets us the $75k difference resulting in the real question to this posting'

Is your 2016 GT4 plus $75k worth a 2018 991.2 GT3 ?

Last RS was $175k and 911R was $184k (with PCCB). No way will a standard GT3 approach those prices (last GT3 was $130k with PDK-S).

Even a 7.5% price hike (max rumored) would keep base price in the $130's...

And rumored Nurburgring time faster than 991.1 GT3 RS (with PDK-S version)...

^That is going to be the real question. I will wait for the announcement, specs and then decide

I don't quarrel with the round number of $100k for a GT4 (mine was well specified and cost less), but I am hoping the delta will be closer to $50k or less for the upgrade to GT3 (I think $175k is too high - hopefully). $175k buys a brand new stripper RS at MSRP (already comes with LWB's and PDK-S).

I don't have the compulsion to check all the boxes when ordering - I like a simple spec with only the stuff that adds to the driving experience (everyone defines that differently).

If the GT3 enjoys similarly strong resale in the secondary market as the GT4 (no reason to doubt that), then I am ok with that delta.

You're asking about a .2 RS? Is it for sure they are making one?

Haven't heard it even from the cleaning lady yet.

But if history serves as a testament, reasonable to expect a 991.2 RS as well.

GT3 manual/PDK optional, RS PDK only most likely.

Default 991.2 GT3RS

I do not know anything unannounced or in the works and was simply extrapolating based on past models, ....but really, how could they pass up the uber profit realm !

I presently own a GT4 and a 991 GT3. I love both cars for different reasons. With that to say, I am on two different lists for a 991.2 GT3 allocation. I intend to order the .2 to replace my .1

I use my GT4 for track duty and the GT3 for street and occasional DD use. I absolutely love the GT3. I absolutely love the GT4. I am blessed and fortunate enough to be able to afford to own/maintain both.

I am excited for the .2 car personally. I plan to keep my GT4 unless the 4RS becomes reality.

Now that the 991.1 GT3 will be offered in manual, this is a tough decision!

Took me about 10 minutes to call my dealer and tell them they can have my GT4 after the Smokies event. A late allocation at best.

GT3 is on the configurator on Porsche.com. Been missing around with it a little.
supposedly they will build the PDK models first, then the manuals.
I am 10th on the allocation list for my dealer but they say they get a lot of people who don't pull the trigger when they get the chance, I was 5th for my GT4 but when the allocation was presented, I was the one who got it and I paid msrp by the way. So we shall see. I want a manual so I am willing to wait

If I can get one, I will sell the GT4 for the mk2 GT3 with manual.
9000rpm GT3RSR race engine with the 911R 6speed transmission!
It is a bit expensive but there will not be any NA GT3 in the next generation car.

I cannot part with my GT4. The day will come when I purchase a GT3 to sit along side this GT4, but it most likely won't be until the 992.2. I just love this car too much.

Wait until you have heard it sing at 9000 RPM before you decide!
