On the GT4, the strut suspension looses ~1 degree camber in the rear as the suspension deflects. With the multi-link setup, it gains ~1 degree... for a total of 2 degree gain relative to struts.

Just sayin'...

Well then give details man! The limitations of struts are well-known, no need to rehash that, but information on conversions is very limited. How many new mounts had to be made? Where do the links come from? Etc.? Does not seem simple.

Porsche spec sheet describes its rear suspension as multilink.

That particular spec sheet was something that caused confusion when the GT4 first came out, but it is definitely a typo or lost in translation type thing.

As much as I'd love either, my answer is honestly... neither. I love this GT4 and with college to pay for, etc. I can't see spending what will likely be A LOT more money in such a short period of time to replace something that I already love to death.

And it also describes front suspension as double-wishbone, neither of which is true (McPherson Struts all around).

  • Completely reversible
  • 5 links
  • uses existing pasm strut, converts to floating damper
  • per side, drill 3 new holes in frame for mount
  • per side, drill/tap 2 new threaded holes in hub
  • Not vaporware, final production pieces already testing
  • Did I mention, completely reversible and uses stock dampers & pasm?
  • Did I mention, adds 2 relative degrees neg camber upon wheel compression?

Installed, target under $12k!

If you drive at 8/10s, this is not the kit for you. If you push the envelope, it's a game changer.

This, plus dreams of the 4.5L power kits for the engine make me all kinds of excited at night.

Excited? Wouldn't you pay 12k for it?

But you're right... maybe just a hair under 4.5L.

Nope!

That better be a very thick hair. Or requires someone with some very deep pockets. Not that those don't exist on here.

I'm still at the top of the list if there is a manual... :-)

lol... I too have seen, touched and spoken with the owner with the mult-link rear. Freaking awesome. I ran with them last year at VIR during their testing. (...watch we are talking about two different people haha).

What he might be saying to you, is that the PDK cars are coming first, and then the manual ones. But most likely he's just really misinformed.
If you are a 918 VIP customer, there is already an option to order, with a manual, and PTS for Spring 2018. Not that it means much to you that a stranger online is telling you this, but I guarantee you it's coming.

If I were you I would go back to my dealer in a few days when it's presented at Geneva, and symbolically backhand him across the face with your driving gloves for his deception and Or stupidity

You keep forgetting that different rules apply to different countries. Just because its that way in the US doesn't mean its that way in another country.

BTW. What is your guarantee worth?
