The RC1 series like the R101 and R101 Lightweight are examples from HRE’s motorsport series which includes standard knurling on the tire bead seat to help prevent tire slippage in motorsport situations. The R101 is similar in design to the P101, but weight savings are taken a step further by machining the sides of the spokes more deeply as to minimize unsprung mass. The most extreme example of this weight removal is the R101 Lightweight which takes weight removal to the next level. Essentially every R101 Lightweight wheel set has to be re-designed and re-engineered for each specific vehicle it’s intended for.

Not that the difference is actually meaningful, but why are these numbers different than those posted on an earlier thread?

I’m not sure who weighed them back in 2015, but the difference can be attributed to a few variables.

- Different offsets
- Different widths (I’m not sure what sizing was weighed)
- Different scales
- Different finishes

I’m sure other things could affect the measurements as well.

We weigh the wheels that come through our shop on the same scale, every time, as a comparison tool for other wheels we’ve weighed here. Taking absolute measurements from different sources might not yield 100% accurate results.
