Default Grand Sport and 991.2S

Figured I would throw this out there as I know a lot of you have multiple cars. I was wondering if any one has either moved on from the GT4 to either a new Grand Sport or a 991.2S or have both and what your impressions between them are. Getting the bug again to get a new car and currently looking at the available options out there.

I have both, the 991.2s and the GT4, they are really not very comparable, the 991 especially in .2 guise is a much better DD, the power / torque is effortless and available essentially at all times, it feels like a bigger car., over and above all that you have the dynamic difference between the RR and MR platforms.

The GT4 is a much more engaging car, both in dynamics and power / noise, you do need to work the car for it through so it is not as easily accessible.

I couldn't make up my mind which i liked more so i DD the 991.2 and have more fun in the GT4, for those occasional drives as well as track work.

If pushed to pick one I'd look at what is your intended purpose, DD - go with the 911 if you want a fun engaging car go with the GT4

Thanks for the response. Anyone have experience against C7Z07 or Grand Sport?

Having driven the 991.2 C2S extensively I can agree that it is better as a daily driver. Effortless torque/power readily available. Still sounds good but not as good as the GT4.

*The GT4 is absolutely no problem as a daily either. Just needs illegal speeds to wring out the power.

I’ve been able to test drive both with no SA on board. The 991.2 S PDK and the GS. 8sp auto and 7sp m. I drove each for 20+ miles including my little 3 mile handling course. In addition to acceleration runs using launch control.
The GS is strong sounds like NASCAR the 8sp auto sucks very lazy. The 7sp is ok they really improved the linkage. The 991 has a much more solid feel the PDK is the sharpest DC gearbox (not my kind of deal but excellent). Launch control really scoots in the 991 about 10 feet of wheel-spin then just hooks up. The GS has that mussel car feel and feels much less nimble and bigger than the 991.The mag ride in the GS is excellent I think much better than the PASM.
Bottom line pure bang for the buck it’s the GS, 79k vs. 126 K for the cars I drove. The GS is kind of like doing surgery with a meat clever VS the 991 scalpel. My choice putting money aside 991 hands down and I have owned Vetts in the past the C7is by far the best yet..carl
