NEW | RSS CarbonAero Components for GT4 | In Stock!
RSS CarbonAero Components were conceptualized as an extension of the GT4 form. The visually appealing qualities of carbon fiber/fibre combined with functional aspects of each individual component create an aggressive yet restrained aesthetic.
RSS partnered with a composite engineering specialist in aerospace, military, and motorsport (F1) composite manufacturing and design to create the RSS CarbonAero Product Line.
RSS - CarbonAero Kit # 251 for GT4. Includes pair of FRONT CANARDS / DIVE PLANES, Aesthetically pleasing and aggressive in appearance, Canards have a functional purpose with direct benefits on street and motorsports applications. Designed with the latest CAD technology, constructed to exacting standards with pre-preg 2×2 Carbon Fibre Twill, finished in a motorsport matte clear coat with UV inhibitors, adhere with 3M VHB tape for easy application and removal, and are 100% Manufactured in Australia. Components are of the highest quality and are guaranteed to fit.• Produce down force by deflecting oncoming air upward resulting in a net down force on the front of the vehicle • Can direct air towards other important aero devices or cooling vents • Direct air away from the wheels and tires thereby reducing drag, turbulence and lift • Can be used to balance and tune front to rear down force levels
RSS - CarbonAero Kit # 252 for GT4. Includes REAR WING EXTENSION. Aesthetically pleasing and aggressive in appearance, WING EXTENSIONS have a functional purpose with direct benefits on street and motorsports applications. Components are of the highest quality and are guaranteed to fit.• Produce down force by deflecting oncoming air upward resulting in a net down force on the rear of the vehicle. Can be used to balance and tune front to rear down force levels.
RSS - CarbonAero Kit # 253 for GT4. Includes REAR “DUCK TAIL” EXTENSION. Aesthetically pleasing and aggressive in appearance, WING EXTENSIONS have a functional purpose with direct benefits on street and motorsports applications. Designed with the latest CAD technology, constructed to exacting standards with pre-preg 2×2 Carbon Fibre Twill, finished in motorsport matte clear coat with UV inhibitors, adhere with 3M VHB tape for easy application and removal, and are 100% Manufactured in Australia. That looks like a wing extension, not a Gurney Flap.
A Gurney Flap is a small tab projecting from the trailing edge of a wing. Typically at right angle to the pressure side surface of the airfoil, and projects 1% to 2% of the wing chord.
The idea of a Gurney Flap is to generate micro counter vortices at trailing edge. That extension will not do that.
I'd not call it a Gurney Flap.

The wing extension looks as if it increases the surface area of the wing, and possibly increases the average attack angle. As such, it will likely have unpredictable effect on the downforce generated by the wing at various speeds. Without wind tunnel testing it is also hard to predict how it will interact with the larger lower lip. Presumably these components only work with the front canards to maintain aero balance?
I also don't understand what is meant by the canards directing air to other aero elements or for engine cooling? Those elements are some ways back on the car: the intake scoops, and the rear wing. Can someone draw the air flow so I can see how all these elements work together?

RSS CarbonAero GT4 Duck Tail Extension
Gazz, thanks for catching that, technically you are correct. We informally referred to them as gurneys in house, and inadvertently carried over that language to the description. To avoid confusion, we will refer to them as wing extensions.
A few pics: Part #253 Rear “Duck Tail Extension" installed this afternoon on a great looking Silver GT4.

Hi morjo02, not sure if it will clear the decal, post a pick so we can have a look. The expel should not be an issue if prepped/cleaned properly.
