I heard the Russians were covering up the 3rd gear failure issue to keep it from becoming acknowledged by VAG.

Yep, good people. Chris Cervelli is "retired" but he would actually build the gearbox for them.

Could be 10 days, three weeks or three months. Some have had long delays. Others state quick turnarounds. Not sure how much dealers have control over timing. Probably more based on availability, which has recently reported as slim.

Well... I ran two track days on my replaced transmission... was changing the engine oil yesterday and noticed a lot of transmission fluid on the underside... its leaking from somewhere... I got a leak from the transmission cooler last time they replaced the transmission.... taking it back to the dealer tomorrow.... hopefully its just a seal...

Sorry, this is exactly why im not going to have them fix the creaking clutch noise. its the law of unintended consequences. one thing i saw at my dealer is they were replacing the trans on a Cayman GTS and did it without draining the coolant. Made the job a lot faster . carl

mine is not the "lost 3rd gear" issue....

have been hearing a sound for 2 months when on light throttle...
after a few dealer visits they are now going to change the transmission

yes I hope it gets fixed quickly as this is prime track season (not too hot yet)

^Glad it wasn't a track event failure but still quite an inconvenience.

Fingers crossed for fast service!
