Default 718 GT4?

I'll be curious to see how Porsche handles this. 4 cylinders or 6? Another manual only? Turbo? Release date? No matter what, should be a very interesting car.

This has been talked about a lot and is mostly speculative. My guess is 2018 as a 2019 model, NA flat six, manual standard with PDK as an option. It basically boils down to selling enough hybrid vehicles to be able to continue the NA motors in the GT car lines, or so I've been told. It'll be a great car no matter what.

I've read a few quotes from Andreas Preuninger (maybe in EVO?) saying that there will definitely be another GT4 and it will definitely be available with a naturally aspirated engine and a stick shift.

Lots and lots of talk/speculation about this. Search for a couple of very long threads about it.

Early indications from Porsche are that an NA 718 GT4 is coming, but it's still early days to know for sure. We'll know more in the next 12-18 months.

Definately a 6 cylinder.
Rumor is the old 911 GTS engine.

Also there is a whole bunch of news on this BUT contacts arent blabbing because of what happened before.

Dual-charged (super and turbo-charged) with electric turbos AND hybrid and Porsche's new flux capacitor with ball bearings. Lots of ball bearings. It is known internally as the "Fetzger" engine. You're welcome for this.

Interesting rumor - 430 ponies would be ideal.

If it has the old GTS engine i'm down for the car immediately.

I honestly think its gonna be TT though. Why would Porsche be using that engine 2 years after its no longer in production.. Doesnt seem like their style of work.

But AP specifically said in the past the higher height of the GTS engine and power package wouldn't fit in the GT4 engine bay?!?!?! That's why the GT4 only had 385HP!!!!!

Right? Right? Riiiiiiiiiight..........

I bet the 991.2 GT3 goes to 4L, and this allows the 718 GT4 to go up to 415HP or so.

Or more likely, since Porsche is REALLY trying to push the heritage of the 4 cylinder engine in the 718, they will put one in the back, and one in the front... and the engine bay in the middle is the new trunk... called the mrunk.

I just hope it's self-driving. With lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control.

And has a backup camera, heated and cooled cup holders, massaging seats, and an amazing sound system with internet access. Plus back seats and lots of deviated stitching. And make the wing optional - who wants that?

The optional PCCB (Porsche Cars & Coffee Brakes) have to make no noise and generate no brake dust.

It also will have a 'Formula 1' button that limits the performance to achieve a desired fuel economy and protect the tires. Whinging prima donna driver is optional.
