Default GT4 Spare Tire Kit

Suncoast's website shows a GT4 spare tire kit. Just wondering if anyone has purchased it who can share their views on it. I think the Suncoast code is: PKGT4SPARE.

Out of curiousity, has anyone located the electric compressor? I saw the foam leak repair stuff, but never saw the compressor for it...

And it shows the same pic for a regular 981 for $300 cheaper. Whats the difference? Inquiring minds want to know.

Lift the font flap close to the windshield. There is a removable rectangular box. If you can't find it I think the owner's manual shows the location.

Thanks! I wonder if the special GT4 spare is necessary to clear the bigger brakes?

Suncoast creates their own PNs on their website that one cannot trace easily to an OEM PN - without being inner circle. So, who knows?

i think its a no brainer... well outside the fact it costs so much. i mean, you could prob grab a set of used wheels that would fit from craigslist and carry 1 wheel just in case.

Not sure how useful it is for road trips with a passenger. There isn't a place for a flat tire. $1500 will pay for a lot of towing after roadside assistance expires.

Hmm.

Says it will fit in the front trunk.
Says it can be used to replace a flat front tire.
Says it will not work for flat rear (so you mount it in front, then mount your good front in the rear).
Says it will not work with PCCB.
Says everything you need is included, but see no mention of a compressor?
Says it is $1500. Ouch. Wonder if a workable setup might be fashioned out of a 986 or 996 spare tire setup (if that will fit in the front trunk of a 981/991). Or maybe from something else?

Don't like running without a spare, but the only time I'd take this with me is on runs to truly remote locations with no cell service. Then I hate running without a spare.

If you read the posts afterward the OPs you should realize that is included in the car already.

So you're in the middle of nowhere in your GT4 (possible.)
You're alone, with no other Porsche friends (sad, and maybe unwise.)
You flat and use the spare wheel (great.)
Where do you put the original wheel and flat tire (it doesn't fit in the frunk or the hatch.)
All things considered, I think the weak link is point #2...

I guess if you're alone you could put it in the passenger seat (hopefully inside a trash bag or something).

Nearly did just that once. 996 C4 en route to LA for wedding, flat RR tire. First attempt next to I5 with cars sailing by put the tire behind passenger longitudinally. She was a good sport about it, but it looked super uncomfortable. First exit put the tire in the rear seat wide-ways and it was fine.

In GT4, is passenger seat only way? Wonder if a flat tire would fit in the front trunk, which is bigger/deeper than the old 986/996 frunk, or even laid flat over the engine cover (though I worry about crash safety in that scenario).
