Check your header bolt for proper torque and gaskets for signs of leaking. This has been confirmed to have caused this code in the past on the GT4.

John, thanks. That indeed was the problem. All bolts were loose to some extent and on one side (left side) I had lost 5 of the 9 bolts completely!

No problem buddy. Make sure those babies are torqued to spec and you double check them after a few heat cycles

Yes, got them to spec. Do you know if the code will clear itself or do I have to do it?

Typically it will clear out over time as the ECU goes through it's checks, but I'm impatient and clear it out haha

Another reason to have a Durametric, though VAG-COM in generic mode would probably also clear the code.

Just an update, no CEL since the install date. Keep in mind the torque specs is dual stage, I would do 15 then 22ft-lb. Never torque when the engine is hot, it takes about 3hrs for a hot engine to be cool enough to work on.

Recently returned from the Smokies GT event with an additional 2000 miles plus 1 track day on the GT4. No CEL!
