Gear shift assist and g-meter without SC (USA)

Funny thing is, I didn't even ask the dealer to enable those functions for me.

Notes from my service visit. May provide some clue to other dealers on how to get this enabled. Again, my visit has nothing to do with enabling these functions but they were enabled by accident.

Based on RL comments I did not splurge for the pricey Sports Chrono but these features are wonderful to find out.

I would bet it is done with the PIWIS Tester. Like in the 997/987 you can change lots of different functions through the coding options in each control module.
This one is likely done only through the instrument cluster coding and it is probably as simple as telling the car it has those 2 features. Once you tell the car that you reset the instrument cluster control module and it all comes to life.
I haven't tested this as of yet but that is how things were done on the 997/987/991/981 models.

This makes sense and likely the reasons dealerships who have enabled the features are reluctant to share the procedure.

Enabling these functions is easy. You just tell the car via PIWIS that the car has sport chrono even if it doesn't. The gear shift assist is pretty useless in my opinion. The sport chrono on the GT4 looks very integrated into the dash and much better than the 911.

I had my car in for a 1k oil change and I asked the tech to poke around and see if he could enable these functions. They know are both in the menu and I do not have SC or PCM.
