Default A BBS track wheel is on the way

For those of us looking for a 19", lightweight track wheel, the options thus far are as follows: OZ, Forgeline, and HRE. A month ago I cold-called BBS in Atlanta and spoke to a gentleman in their Motorsports group about making a wheel to fit the GT4. He said they have the E88 that will work (but which I think is a less than good looking wheel), and that was it. I pressed about making the FI in our fitment, but he was less than committed.

I spoke with him again yesterday and there is news. BBS will be manufacturing in Germany a wheel with the following specs: 19 x 9 +50, and 19 x 10.5 +43.5. He claims these will accommodate 265 and 295 sizes respectively, will clear the suspension components, and will weigh approximately 20lbs per wheel. They'll look just like the wheels on the Porsche 911 RSR (as shown below), and in fact are made on the same production line. They will only clear the steel brakes. Pricing will be $6600 and will only be sold through the Motorsport group so any orders will have to go through them. He claims these will be available in roughly 10 weeks with a few sets already earmarked for a few race teams.

I'm pretty excited - - hopefully this ticks a few boxes for other members as well.

That's awesome news! Did they say anything about offering 20" FI-R wheels in a GT4 fitment for the Pccb owners?

Don't forget to add Finspeed to the list of current options. They've already done measurements on my non-PCCB car to figure out what will and won't work with stock components, and they may have gotten their hands on a car with PCCB and/or Tarett toe links since then. They have a shop GT4 now, but I don't know its specs. I haven't used their wheels, but I was impressed with what I saw during my visit and the impressions I read in various forums seem very positive, and they would cost less than what BBS is offering unless you go crazy with the technical and finish options. Their F14 wheel looks a lot like the Motorsport wheel too.

I can see a set of these in my future. Are there any Photoshop experts out there would can show what these will look like on a GT4?

We are currently running 19x9/19x11 on our shop GT4.
A standard track package in all Finspeed models (excluding the F5Spyder) is $4800 + shipping. The F5 Spyder is $5800 + shipping.

They are going to on market in Germany soon. The list price was around 10.000 EUR and they were trying to make a group buy in the pff.de forum. It will be coming in 3 colors. It is around 10kg lighter than the OEM wheels in total.

I've got a set of Finspeeds on order for my inbound GT4 and am excited for their arrival. I've had a couple of sets before and they are absolutely fantastic wheels - light, strong, beautiful, and extremely high quality.

i have a feeling that the BBS OP talked about is similar to the blue car above not the FI-R from Ex MB's link.

we shall know in a few months.

if they make it and i still have GT4, they will be on my car.
