So it was daunting to read how many panels you have to take off to get to the engine cover, therefore I just wiggled the vacuum lines going to the actuator off of the proximal vacuum T (I didn't want to wrestle with those distal hose clamps at the actuator connection). I'll plug up the lines once the exhaust cools down

Now the exhaust sounds so lively at 2-4k rpms and I don't have to press that damn exhaust button. The car just screams of American FREEDOM unfettered from the strict European sound restrictions Best of all it is easily reversible. I take no responsibility if your car blows up after...

lets go to the best ramen spot

I was taking a break from installing the IPD plenum and 82mm TB when I read your topic.
This changes the tonal quality throughout the entire RPM range.
More rasp!

In my Aston it was a single fuse that controlled the exhaust valves. is there an equivalent fuse in the Gt4/Spyder?

How tough is it to install the plenum and TB?

There's a fuse but it also controls a bunch of other stuff

The fuse is shared by a taillight, go no go there.

Not bad, it was originally designed for the 987 and therefore a solenoid bracket is in the wrong place and the wiring harness won't reach it, but I was able to tie wrap it to a hose so it doesn't flop around.
Also, don't be afraid to give the actuator's arm a tap with a hammer to make it mate with the swivel on the plenum.
Here a reference;

I went though a tunnel with the windows down at redline, you'll love it!
Thanks for letting me know how to be more obnoxious.

I would want to see a dyno full open vs stock before assuming there's no difference. My last car we dynoed with and without cats, car made more power above 4.5k rpm but lost a big chunk of torque between 3k and 4k rpm. Every car is different of course but I wouldn't brush off porsche engineering decisions as myth or old wives tales until there's some proof in dyno numbers.

This will not throw a CEL. At least on my car, they've been unplugged for 2000 miles or more without issue.
