Default saying Hello & sharing impressions

Hello Rennlisters,

I think I have had a great honeymoon with my GT4 and it is the time to share you my impressions so far.

The car is a jewel, the closest thing to my dream track car (if only had 50hp more) .. how to summerize it ? .. it is a mix of:

70% Cayman
10% Lotus Exige S
10% Carrera GTS
5% Carrera GT
5% Black pepper

what a car! .. it is seriously a delimma either to keep it your daily drive toy or a track toy .. handling is super, chassis is marvelous out of the box, power is good (fine in mid range but it is the only problem to get fast laptimes).

my first track day was a surprise to me. The car is ready out of the box. I have seen plenty of negative impressions about understeer and gear ratios. come on guys! understeer is there but very minor, depending on how you drive the car, because the car is like a Radical, very advance and can be tricky and sensitive to your input at the edge. throttle and steering input must be good enough to avoid understeer. thats plus IMO. I have adjusted the rear sway bar to stiff and kept the front to mid. almost no understeer.

Gear ratios .. thats a broad subject and depend on the circuit! .. in Bahrain International circuit it is perfect ratio to me. I cant imagine a better ratio!. so maybe most of the comments are based on very close course experience. thats just a humble opinion.

brakes are great. no fade with temp around 29~25° ... the car does not squat with full heavy braking as many cars like 911, M3..etc , the car act like complicated systems usually supercars have.

here is my first track day video .. easy on the car, I am not pushing it at all. next time I will see its limits .. "sorry for the bad GoPro position" .

setup:
factory ride height
camber: -1.15 on all wheels
Toe: F0/R0.1
Wing: Full attack
brakes air dams removed
Nannies ON
Tires: Dunlops , Cold pressure 28

Thats all, here is the video

https://youtu.be/dwIFjAgiRlM

so, will attend a time attack next week end .. will keep you posted on a close course impressions.

Nice review and video.

I think the Fabspeed GT450 package will solve the only complaint you have.

Nice! I agree the car is very capable out of the box. That said I'm going to put a bit more camber on mine after having my first track day yesterday, and do some research on minimizing front tire wear!

camber is required of course .. your ride height will be your first step. then adjust your camber accordingly. build it step by step, dont rush it. I have ordered RSS shims and rear toe link. but will keep it for the next season after my observation of the first track day.
