Front Spoiler Scraping

Front Spoiler Scraping
Sorry if this topic has already been addressed. When I drive my GT4 around town, the front spoiler is so low that it's constantly scraping on nearly every driveway I pull into, even when I try to come at them at an angle.
Any tips of dealing with this? I'm afraid I'm going to tear the thing off at some point.
Are there any nose lift kits available, like the Tech Art 911 nose lift?

Other than taking the most extreme angle you can, the other item is to go SLOW. Any slight suspension compression caused by driving too fast will also reduce the ride height.
Yes, I do scrape now and then, but have been very pleasantly surprised. Was initially worried that I couldn't take the car anywhere and that has been far from the case.

I can pretty much reassure you that you won't rip the lip out of the bumper. You might be able to do it by forcing it against a curb, but scraping it won't do it. It is held in with a large number of "fish hook" tabs and sits in a groove in the bumper. It is designed to be more flexible than the bumper, and so will flex when scraped. I have already swapped out one lip (I am running two as I wrap them, and the wrap wears out much faster than the lip) and the wear after about 3000 miles was noticeable, but not severe in any way. I would suggest you not worry about it too much, especially if you take the precautions vantage suggested. After a year or two, just replace it with a new one. It's a wear item, and cheaper than a tire...

I was really concerned about scraping the lip as well but to this day after taking delivery 11/30 I haven't scraped the lip once and northern Virginia roads aren't the best and I work in the city and park in an underground garage. Best advice is take it SLOW and take angles. So far so good for me. Not a single scratch on my lip yet

I was afraid of this problem looking at some of the driveways for places I visit around town, but it hasn't been an issue for me at all. Going very slowly is a big one (or at least put PASM in Sport to reduce compression), and yeah getting one wheel onto driveways while almost parallel to it before turning up onto it helps a lot if the driveway is wide enough. What's surprised me is how slowly I need to go over speed bumps especially with the rear axle to avoid a sound and feeling suggesting that I'd completely destroyed my suspension.
I agree that in the worst case, lip replacement is preferable to aftermarket lift though.

Get used to it, brosef. Scrapes are going to happen. It is what it is.
Luckily, 99% of the time, it seems to be on the very bottom, so you can't actually see the damage.
Drive slow, at an angle, and pray.
My nuts draw up into my body cavity when I see a big speed bump come out of nowhere. Hence, not a great option for DD.

Scout out establishments with your SUV before deciding to take your racecar there

I treat these as sacrificial, Porsche knows this and made them quick change with press tab securing snaps and an end screw to secure them. Part Number: 981-505-525-80-1E0
The Sunset Group buy here was the best deal at just about $225, but they still have the best price around that I've found $260

Are you saying you have found OEM 997.2 GT3 lips for $200? The best OEM prices are over $300 that I have found, please share as I need a 997-505-557-94-01C

Now if you're talking ebay replica lips then those are not OEM

Hi,
One possible option would also be to replace the GT4 front lip by a 981 Spyder one. I guess it fits as the front bumper design is the same, and the Spyder lip being thinner, that'll solve most of the problem, without - I feel - affecting the road handling of the GT4 significantly. If you're using the GT4 on open roads mostly, that's what I'd do.
PS: I drive a 981 Spyder, and, although the ground clearance is low at first glance, I very rarely scrap the nose, even in cities (and we have plenty of these 'speed bumps' here in France)... But, yes, you have to be careful and to slow down !
