2017 GT4, Yes or No?
So, I am trying to get my arms around whether or not Porsche will be build the GT4 as a 2017 model. There have been insiders who state unequivocally that the Osnabruck plant will cease production of Caymans including GT4s this summer.
And, we heard that moving forward Porsche will be building all sports cars in Zuffenhausen.
So, with launch of two new platforms - the 718 Boxster and the new 911.2 Carrera (with many model iterations), all being built in Zuffenhausen, is it a logical guess that 718 Caymans will not be launched until well later in the year or even next model year?
If so, what will be the next GT4 model year available, 2018 or 2019?

I would be very surprised if it's 2017.

I've already dropped a deposit on the .2 gt4.. I'm guessing 2018 release with orders being accepted in late 2017 or early 2018.
Porsche 55th anniversary is in 2018, no? ... I am betting on some special models being released for that year.

I doubt that we will see the .2 early 2018, I think late, late 18 early/mid 19 is more logical. The Cayman hasn't even been announced yet, and they need to roll out, release the GTS and the Motorsport department are already building 911R and tooling up for 991.2 GT3 and possibly some sort of GT2 version.

It seems that the GT3 manual version would outsell a GT4. That stated the price differential may create two separate market niches. My bet is 2018 befor you can get a newer GT4 version, but nothing more than a wild guess.

My SA has consistently said for 4 months what he hears from Porsche is when the 2016 GT4s finish production this summer, that is the end the GT4 as it is currently configured, and all production will be classified as 2016 model year. He has no information about what happens beyond that, only speculation.

GT4 is done for now. Figure you can order in 2018 for the 2019 model.
But - When the manual 991.2 GT3 comes out which will be 18 months before the GT4 there will be a number of good second hand GT4s on the market

agreed with all of this! Although the GT4 is still a steal where one can have a heck of a track car with the right seats and warranty for under 90k. I can only assume a base .2GT3 will msrp around 140-145 before any options and the price disparity alone will soften the price decline.

I was thinking of selling my GT4, and waiting to get a new one (next year). But, the more I think about it next year is nearly impossible for Porsche with all the new models ahead of it. The thought of sitting out for 2 years or longer, with no car, and nothing to report on Rennlist - that just aint going to happen. Will keep my GT4 for now.

really don't think there are gonna be gt4 '17s at all
i think they are closing out the run, won't reappear till .2, and who knows what that'll look like... 718 redone base high volume cars just launched

I shouldn't answer for Matt but I am guessing it might be the seats ?? That is what has motivated many to do this ??? Just a guess ??
