Default Anyone else doing Euro delivery in April?

After saying NO for months, my dealer finally allowed us to do Euro delivery. April 13 in ZF. Any fellow Rennlist or PCA members there around the same time? Also, for those of you with more experience driving in Central Europe, should I opt for the snow tires during our drive, or is it late enough in the season that snow is unlikely? We want to hit Switzerland, northern Italy and Austria. Thanks!

Congrats! Should be a blast. There are a few good Euro Delivery threads on here, as well as on some BMW forums. We just confirmation for ED end of May!

There would not be snow that time of the year normally.

Some good stuff here.
https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...r-does-ed.html

Tracks should be open in April.
I'm in UK now with ED Macan S, the car will be here through June.
I'll take it to the Ring just to do laps. Slower than RS of course and on winter tires but a lap at the Ring is a lap learned.....

Interesting...my dealer said "no can do". Is it something that CAN be added if one persists?

I'm in the same boat. I have a March allocation and was looking to ED when the car finishes in April. But my dealer said back in Nov that all ED slots for March and April had been taking. Is this just a case of the dealer saying no to save eating the cost of ED? Can docfink and I still get ED if we persist?

Yes, ED availability seems limited by the slots available at the ED department.
If you can wait, just ask for dates further out.

You can email Jamie or Daniel in Atlanta:

Jamie.Dillon@porsche.us
External.Daniel.Margrave@porsche.us

Thanks for the tips. If I ask for a later ED date, say May, and it's granted by Porsche, would they also push back my production date, which is currently in March? Or do they still build my car based on the current timeline and park it somewhere until I pick up?

I was told there were no dates available in early to mid May. They gave me 2 choices and said they were the only open dates - April 6 and 13. As far as persistence, I was told NO several times, but argued my case to the general manager. Full disclosure - I was already paying 5k over MSRP for my slot, and I am a relatively local customer (but new to that dealer). It does cost the dealer money to send a client over for ED. I wa on lists at 3 other dealers, all of whom told me no to ED.

Wow, I think you need to go shopping out of state!
I would have told them to keep it and refund money, see how that goes.

Just grab the April 13 date.
For a couple thousand you can leave it there for a few months!
I have parking for you.

I'm booked for June but not confirmed until dates open up, or so I'm told. Don't know what the hell that really means, but I'm not exactly buying flights just yet.

Here you can see how small that area is in Zuffenhausen.

Link

You are now competing with others (and different models) from ROW for available space, time and dates.

I am booked for June 2 ED at Leipzig. Wanted to try their track! Anyone else doing that date at Leipzig? Let me know. I am also trying to figure out if my wife and I will be able to do a reasonable job of applying Tracwrap at pickup to protect the car from chips during the Euro trip. We plan to stay there for 3 weeks.
