I have the NavTV system in my GT3.
In retrospect, I wish I had not installed it.
The camera and system work perfectly fine (no complaints about the install or the functionality), but it's just not that necessary. After a while you just get used to backing up using the side mirrors and looking up/under the rear wing.

Has anyone tried this - https://navtv.com/products/NTV-KIT25...light-cam.html from NavTV. It is supposed to replace one of the license plate lights. I am guessing this would avoid having to drill a hole in the bumper. I don't think I need a camera bad enough to drill a hole.
It is supposed to be for Panamera but just eyeballing the lights on the GT4 looks to be the same size. And supposed to work with PCM 3.1.

$1200 doesn't sound that bad if the shop has experience with the equipment and Porsche cars. Parts alone is around $900. I think the most difficult part is getting the PCM out, the rest is probably Plug-n-play, except of course for that hole you have to drip on the rear bumper.
Oh, another thing is the programing of the system. You have to short one of the wires several times for the resetting of the PCM and adjusting the NAV system.....it's in the instructions but a bit unnerving.

Have NAV in my gt3. Helpful for backing into spaces quickly and with confidence if you cannot pull into a space that you can exit forward. Not sure I will get a backup camera with my gt4 coming in June. Will wait and see. Plan on just making that my weekend /track option #2 car.
Both local dealers recommended the shop I used and said that for them it would not violate warranty issues.

I've got a navtv on my GT3 and use it pretty often, its great when getting into tight spots. Girlfriend bought one for the GT4 but I haven't had a chance to install it yet. It is a bit easier to see where that car ends though.

Are you doing the install yourself? If yes, let us know on the best way to take out the PCM. Thanks in advance.

I asked my SA about adding option 7X9 (from the Spyder since it doesn't include the parking sensors) and she was told no by PAG -- same with HD Radio without SiriusXM, which is available on the GT3 and RS. I've had the NavTV system on my radar since before I even had a confirmed allocation and thought it would be my first mod, but now although I admittedly haven't put enough miles on the car to tell for sure yet, so far I'm not feeling the need to buy it. If I had to squeeze into tight parallel parking spaces often or back out with little clearance behind me I would probably want it because right now I'm way too conservative when estimating where the front and rear of the car are, but I suspect even that will go away with more practice. I haven'f been to the track with it yet, where I suspect looking out the rear might be a bit trickier with a helmet on (and even more so for people who use a HANS and harness bar), but generally I've found that people passing by behind a car backing up in the paddock area will stop and guide the driver out, so that may be a non-issue as well.

Do people with gt4 have trouble pulling fwd into spaces for fear of hitting the cement parking blocks that most spaces have? How do you judge those? Perfect front camera situation?
