Hello mattheboatman,

Nice GT4 you have there. May I ask where you bought your front and rear tow hooks?

Thanks,

Removing caps is easy as per manual. Simply press hard on the bottom and fish it out, no tools required. Squeeze the barbs to sneak it completely out.

I test fitted the factory supplied tow hook first. I recalled reading that it is a left turn to tighten thread. This is correct. Heavier factory supplied hook did assist cleaning threads. OE hook is located in the fronk drivers side tool kit. RL hook screwed in with some assistance in the front, less in the rear. The bolts are shipped with plastic washer shims for the varied depths on different cars. I found on my GT4 i used 0 shim washers in the front, and 5 shim washers in the rear. Both front and rear hooks thread in deeper than the oe hook which has a collar preventing it from screwing in too deep.

I hope these will never be used, but if i do find myself off the track i will be prepared.

Its funny keeping toe hooks on your car when your not on track reminds me of growing up when you never took lift tickets off your ski jacket. To let people know you skied.
No offense just popped into my mind.. carl

On my Lotus I have one of those semi-permanent toe hooks attached to the rear subframe. When the engine idles, it flaps like crazy due to my stiff engine mounts.

I consider it the car equivalent of twerking.

Cool shot.
This. Great story and pic. Make a few and keep one in your car for the next time you run into him.

Unfortunately, the dyno we had scheduled for the morning before the installation was down for service. I know....I should have gotten a baseline. Best I will be able to do is when they have it running again is take another stock GT4 with mine so we can compare....at least will give us a rough idea of the gains which at around 3-4K rpms is noticeable and the sound after 4K is awesome. Not a cheap upgrade but I think is worth the cost.

Let me try to get one with my phone. After hearing various sound clips and videos I think they don't do justice to the real thing but will give it a try.

I think if you also add a Sport exhaust you will get even more HP and torque out of her. Sport headers, cats, and exhaust are my after market mods I will do.

You can build off this ...
I think honestly to get the real benefit out of this, you will need to do the TB, plenum filters And a tune
Then you will see a much greater increase
Good luck
One thing for sure you engine bay temps will be lower👍
