I will need to hug and kiss my new (to me) GT4 after a drive later today - our roads in Northern NJ are becoming so bad that I am sweating already and feel bad for the poor car...

Sancho22 - congrats on the GT4. I am in the market right now. Care to share the details on what you picked up?

Sancho22 07-17-2019 03:21 PM

Sure. Carmine red with buckets, Sport Chrono, carbon fiber bits, leader steering wheel and shifter, alcantara sun visors, black wheels, navigation, color matched stitching, aluminum looking gas cap, fire extinguisher dual zone AC and a few other useless things LOL
Car has less then 10K miles, CPO, tranny replaced recently, coolant replaced/system flushed (air) last week by the dealer. Was driven clearly by the PO given some chips. Clear bra not the best job and will need replacement on the front/side.

Looked at several cars including a black with 18 way adjustable seats but figured (for me) the buuckets are a must if I want to get some track driving in.

Nice pick up. Was it the for sale in Long Island?

I was ready to jump on that one...

Sancho22 07-17-2019 05:53 PM

Yeah. I was debating this or the one in Mt Laurel with very few options and no CPO, less miles (lower price too)...
Both drove very well but figured eventually I would miss some of the features (yeah right)...
I liked the leather steering wheel / shifter and the CPO - lot of work done during the process so that tilted the scale for me.

The one disappointment I had in the process is that Porsche dealers lost their exclusive feel/customer service from years ago (with one dealer being an exception).
Volume chasing really feels badly - at least in my experience. Perhaps if I would have gotten a GT2 RS maybe they would have handled the process/my visits differently...

I simply ordered a 991 leather steering wheel for my baby.

Should be here in 4 weeks from Germany.

Checked out Techart website since I want to have the entry leather trim with contrast stitching, steering column with leather and contrast stitching and the fuse lid in leather with contrast stitching.
i saw these options once in a picture that member pistolpete made on some cars and coffee meeting. These options add a nice touch to the already wonderful GT4 interior.
as Porsche does not offer these individualisation after the production stop of the GT4 I contacted Techart in Germany. They say they can do it in perfect Porsche quality...
Just waiting on a price.
Has anybody ever ordered something from Techart and can say something about their quality?

TechArt specializes in Porsche only so they stay on par with that top notch level of quality. We work hand-in-hand with TechArt USA & Germany. If you need any assistance whatsoever give us a holler.

I did a track event at Lime Rock with NCR PCA. It is my second event and the GT4 just keeps getting better and better. What a great car!

I also convinced my wife to track her C43 and amazingly she loves it! Now I have a track partner and with perfect timing as we become empty nesters next month. She already approved an event at Palmer in September

Thank you very much. I already have contact to Techart Germany and I am pretty sure so far they will meet my expectations.
