I got mine from Motorwerks in Barrington, and it was a cold call. They're 25 minutes from my house as it turns out. I guess I should have started calling with the dealers closest to me.

Well USC could be the greatest university in the world to me, but then we'd both be wrong!

Krell - Your spot at Motorwerks is a great example of how nebulous the idea of a "list" truly is! I called them 3 months ago, have talked to the manager or e-mailed them every couple of weeks, they thought it would be unlikely a spot would open up. Instead of calling me as a local customer, you were able to randomly call in and get the allocation. Why they didn't call people like myself on their "list" is a mystery. In the end - we both got spots!

Try Jason Tippy at Napleton Porsche in Westmont (Chicago area). As of yesterday, they had 1 spot open. Tell him Jeff Van referred you! I was in there Friday to spec out my build. Good luck!

Wow...I had some strange dealings with them and abandoned an allocation there last month. Went with another local dealer who has been outstanding.

That's how I got my allocation. I was never in a wait list. I decided to ditch my idea of getting a 997.2 Turbo and called a local dealership to find out how long the wait list was. Surprisingly they told me that they had an allocation just open up bc someone couldn't get financing. I put a deposit over the phone right at that moment. Voila!

I value the utility of the 911 too much but didn't want the depreciation curve of the 991 (turbo or C4S) and still wanted a widebody. An ideal spec came along close by.

Keep looking for those who haven't found, I finally got my allocation on Friday at MSRP after looking for a few months, it's an April build I was calling dealers all over , I was shock when i was told yes we have one. Customer back out due to back surgery. Now the wait begins.
