Will Porsche re-price the GT4?
No one has broached this taboo subject, but I will put it out there for discussion. Will Porsche re-price the GT4?
With some dealers openly asking a premium for the car, and the demand far outpacing supply, I wonder if they will re-price it for the second half of this model year or for 2017 if they do a 981.2 version.
Most current GT4 owners placed deposits even before we knew the price. My guess is most would have been willing to pay more, maybe $10k or ??? more.

Based on the demand I'd say yes, a $10K bump would not surprise me for the next version. They will most likely dress it up by providing more standard features such as the Apple Carplay head unit, etc.
However they have to be careful not to go too far overboard vs. the price of the upgraded Caymans. Then again those cars will have the turbo 4 engines so they can definitely add a premium if the GT4 engine remains the N/A Flat 6...

My guess is that the base price will go up to the high $90s just below $100k.

Such is life I guess, things keep going up (except for flat screen TV's, still mad I jumped in back in 2003 and splurged).
Anyway, imagine if the new car has a lower MSRP? This forum would be burning up trying to figure out what was wrong with it...

Thank you Matt for addressing this topic. I didn't want to start a thread but it's a question I really was wondering about. Somewhat unfair for me to say since I have a GT4 but I think it was underpriced given the C2S starts at $100k and doesn't have the same equipment the GT4 has. Price a C2S out with aero, suspension, exhaust, seats, and a few other bits that are standard on a GT4 and your in the mid $120s. Then again a 991 GTS is $115k so they can't push the envelope too far.
I'd say $95k base-ish for the next round. If I didn't have one I'd buy but my option list was under $1k too.

Porsche has also stated that the Boxster will be positioned above the Cayman, which historically has been the case of coupe vs soft top. I think this may help keep the price increases down on Cayman models.

I think its a well known fact that GT cars usually come towards the end of a model line and not at the beginning; ergo no MY2017 981.2 GT car. But there are always those with hope.

The .2 version will be 2017 or 2018 model. PDK as an option so that'll add $3500-$5000, perhaps address the longer gears, and more standard features, but not many more as the option game is where the margins are at.
If the dollar continues to hold, if not strengthen with anticipated FED rate hikes, then PAG has a reason not to increase too much. I'm thinking low 90's as a base for the .2 version.
