I may get flamed for this, but I'd argue that's a very modest and reasonable markup on that car.

Assuming he paid sales tax on it can you even consider it a mark up?
Not sure how to view that. Only one who makes out is the state.

GLWS I imagine it won't take long...

I think it's fair. I think you'll see a few people consider this in the North when it comes to store it for 6 months. It won't be many but a few every year.

Just my opinion but you don't sell this car to get a replacement unless you're seriously upgrading.

Exactly. 6% sales tax and you're already at $100K. Very modest.

Almost just an inconvenience fee for having to run it in for somebody else

No flaming. again all perception. Paying over MSRP for a USED car, still stupid and crazy IMO. GLWS, it will sell because folks have more money than sense around here.

If I knew people would pay over MSRP for a used car, I shoulda buy the GT4 when my dealer offer me. But if you have the money to waste, why not.

That's a fine price considering the owner paid sales tax. I would pay this happily with no regrets. Where is Rennlister 'Userxxxx' ? That guy deserves a shot at a car and this isn't a bad deal at all.

Im rooting for you, Userxxxx!!!

People pay over MSRP everyday for stuff. Coffee, hamburgers, blue jeans, event tickets, soda pop, alcohol, and etc.

I'm not sure there's anything magical about the MSRP that a manufacturer sets. Usually they're pretty close, but Porsche (thankfully!) went lower than they could have with the MSRP on the GT4. The 'market' is now speaking and telling them that... But, they only know that with the benefit of hindsight.

I think it makes more sense that somebody pays 5% over MSRP for a GT4 and is able to get most of it back in 3 years than somebody pays 5% under MSRP for an AMG that possibly ends up being worth the price of a toaster in 3 years.

I agree with you in general, but not in this - exceptional - case.

Totally agree if this is the case. Time will tell if they are worth that in the future.

I hear all the arguments about MSRP. I am not here to change anyone. I personally will never pay over MSRP for anything and yes that includes concert tickets. Just me. I know plenty others are happy to.
