I have agreed not to discuss the particulars of any NDA in consideration of
PCNA's resolving the issue.

It's not uncommon when dealing with potentially large fixes to unusual issues. I've seen stories about BMWNA and GM doing the same thing for cases like partially or completely goodwilling seriously expensive repairs out of warranty due to special circumstances, for example.

Doesn't make it all right. What's the "special" circumstance? One of the reasons we all visit these forums is to share information about stuff like this, many times this prevents the mfg from screwing over the individual by not coming clean on problems that may be only known to them.

Well in this case you can see from the thread that it wasn't a manufacturing problem. If anything it was a communication problem where Porsche offered a Li-ion battery option without mentioning that it wasn't suitable for DD usage. And as you can also see, the NDA isn't preventing OP from discussing the nature of the issue; this one, like the others I've read about, just prevents the customer from disclosing the terms of the accommodation for their complaint. So for example PCNA/BMWNA/whoever might agree to foot the bill for a $30K repair bill due to some unique set of circumstances with that customer but wouldn't want everyone else with circumstances that maybe sort of vaguely resemble that first customer's demanding the same treatment -- but the customer isn't prevented from saying, "Hey, I had this particular problem with my car, and the automaker and I reached an agreement for how to handle it." To me it's not all that different from business deals that put some of the exact terms under NDA so that other materially different customers don't demand the same terms and/or so competitors don't learn about what those businesses can/do offer at least to certain customers.

Forcing all business and communication to occur out in the open doesn't always lead to a better overall result.

I signed a non disclosure on a 2008 Cayman S. Purchased new out of state. My local dealer, Porsche of the Village, was the primary driving force in the resolution. The SA at POV gave me a letter to sign before getting the settlement.

Apparently in the uk, we have to recode the ecu to accept the lithium battery and that needs to happen every time batteries are switched between stock agm unit and the motorsport lithium battery or it won't charge up properly. Bummer, I am trying to get Porsche to agree on no cost switching as this was different to the 997/987 and not disclosed on the configuration nor the order form

Received refund today for the lithium battery. No agreement. Just a fed ex envelope and a check.

Did they take the battery back?

I ordered the car with the lithium battery and it was delivered without it (I figured it out when I couldn't get the lithium charger to work and someone here suggested I check the battery). I told the dealer I didn't want the battery anymore and they requested a check and Porshe NA mailed it without any issue.

Sounds like a good resolution in the end.

Default Lithium ion battery option

I ordered my 2016 GT3RS with lithium ion battery option and it was delivered without. I understand it is no longer an option. I expected the 20 lb Motosport battery instead of the old 10 lb yellow one. Suncoast lists the Motosport for around $4500. Anyone know anything new about the lithium option,
The exhaust note in the GT3 RS sucks.

Not sure about the battery but Dundon can fix the sound.

After running a Braille i48ce for the last 3 months I found that while the car charges it up it doesn't appear to charge it to full capacity. I use a Ctek lithium maintainer which takes it the rest of the way to full capacity.
