GT4 lithium ion battery option . . . any takers?

No brainer for me to skip that option. $600.00 will get you 2 Deltran LI batteries that con be hooked up to do the job, maybe 8 pounds total? Braille that I use weighs 9 pounds. $200.00? I forget.
Either way a battery tender is needed. Braille can go a few days but not a full week without being tendered. Won't last overnight if the key is left in the ignition. They die for good after 2-3 complete discharges. Stock lead batteries go for weeks but sometimes get a BATTERY LOW warning on my GT3.

I can't charge mine with ctek lithium xs. It goes into under voltage protection mode and the battery flashes green and red. Anyone have this issue?
Isn't porsche charge-o-mat charger the same thing?
The led indicator then goes dark after a few minutes.
I plug the ctek charger in and it goes through the normal charging cycle ramping up to stage 5 (completion)in a few minutes. Then as it goes into stage 6 (maximisation) an audible click happens and the charger shuts off and battery led faces red and green.

I have the Porshe lithium battery as well. My Porshe trickle charger works for about 45 min each time I hook it up and then the green power light flashes. No idea why. I just picked up my car a few weeks ago, so I don't think it's an issue with the battery.

Are you guys sure you actually have the lithium battery installed? Someone else ticked that option but didn't get it. The car isn't delivered with it actually installed; it comes with a standard battery installed and the LiIon battery separately, and apparently the dealer hadn't remembered to deliver it in this case -- so unless you know for certain that yours was actually installed, you might be having trouble charging because you're trying to use a lithium charger on a standard battery.

I'm getting mine installed tomorrow. I am also riding the dealer on the
car-disconnects-power-sockets-after-5-minutes behavior because it's
so inconvenient and against what the manual says.

Also, did that other thread I linked you to not shed any light on this? It seemed like it was a matter of just having the right charger to prevent the automatic shut-off from triggering, with some GT4s being more "cutoff-happy" than others based on production date, which is why some examples work with some chargers and others don't.

From my understanding if you connect the charger in the socket befor shutting off the car trhan it will not automatically shut-off but should stay on.
I have not tested this yet

Thanks, Jp, I would be wanting the dealer to represent me (and us) to PCNA
to get a solution for us. I have tried the 'plug-in-before-turn-off', and it didn't
work, using a porsche-branded charger that works for all my other cars...
I did tell the dealer that this is a known issue, and to ask 'upstream'.

Wow. Thanks for this. Dealer forgot to install mine as well. On my build sheet and window sticker. That explains why the charger wasn't working. Dealer said it was supposed to be in the trunk and they install it when they prep the car. I'm going to have them install it next week.
