What are these Super Soft R Spec tyres? Brand etc?
Maybe BBS Motorsport wheels would be suitable because they can be built to order.
Do you have standard red brakes or ceramic yellow brakes?

Maybe there are lots of Number 10's then.
I suspect that Porsche might build the Australian spec cars in batches to make production easier. They are all made at the Osnabruck factory (old Karmann factory now owned by VW). This is where all Caymans are produced and where half the Boxster production is done. The other half of Boxsters are made at Stuttgart.

I got steel brakes this time so I can at least try to get 18 or 19s' on. Had ceramic before.
I started a thread about this but nobody replied ;
I tried some Yokohama 18" Advan rims with large barrel intended for 991s'. These do fit over the calipers, but hit the rear suspension toe arms. These 991 rims are a special shape.
I tried some other regular Yokohama 18" rims with spacers (19 or 21mm)and they clear the toe arms, yay. But don't fit over the calipers properly.
So looking to try the 991 rims with spacers next at the shop. Or maybe different offset rims but with the big barrel this may be a big ask.
Not sure if the spacers will cause the tyres to have issues with the guards yet.
The tyres are Yoko A050. With these your 987 can easy out drive a GT3 if it does not have them. I was the first to run these (although pretty pricey) in the club, now most others do as well. They are super quick but as they are "time attack" tyres they are not suitable for continiuous lap running as they get hot after one lap.
My concern with running 18's with A050's on this car will be roll centers.
I used to have an R35 GT-R which came with 20's standard and it was actually quicker with 19" Dunlop Sports MAXX Race rubber than it was with 18" A050's as the roll centers were just to far out. Toyo do make an R comp (R888) is 19 and 20's but even though the feel better from the SOP they weren't as quick as the Dunlops either.
The Dunlops are one of the OEM options for the Cayman along with the Michelins - what did you get on your one GAZZ?
It's one of the reasons I was thinking of going slicks. Then you can run 19's but get a side wall to make the rolling diameters - and hence the roll centers as per factory design.
I had no issues on the 987.2, it worked perfect but yes these are somewhat smaller than the 20" on the GT4 and only slightly smaller than 987.2 OEMs.
Dunlop Sports MAXX Race??? Guess what? My GT4 car came with these (20")!!!! Has a tread wear of 80. Maybe you all will get them too.
For a road tyre they are really good actually, but are nothing compared to the grip of a proper R spec and no where near the A050s'.

Haha yes you are right. PCV day, no not going to get there unfortunately. Should be a good day though talking to a few people that are going. Something like over 200 cars expected...
I couldn't get anyone at Brighton to show any interest in selling me a car. 3 times I went there and nobody was interested. Even when I pulled up in my 993 C2S in front of 3 sales people. They just kept talking amongst themselves so after 20 minutes I left. Was close to writing to the dealer principle but never bothered in the end.....

that is very unfortunate, chris.
a reflection of some of the current generation's work ethos/culture, seen much more frequently than previously. that is very sad, that a customer comes in with intent to spend over $200k, and they just let him walk away. i don't let anybody walk out of my workplace unspoken to. even for $5 sale. you just never really know who each customer really is and how much they are willing to part with.
maybe these guys sell too many cayennes that pay their wages.

Thinking about it except not too keen on the 130kph speed limit monitored by the Rally Safe unit if you do not have a full roll cage. I understand the reasons for this but I am thinking it might be excruciating on the straights.
The Clubsport factory half cage does not comply with CAMS regulations as it needs an additional cross brace and the front cage to comply. That is if you want to run in the unrestricted speed category.
