Took my car in for service and they had two gt4s sittings the the dealership. I was very pleasantly surprised with the headroom with the LWB seats! More headspace than in my 996rs and slightly less than in the 997rs!

This was in Malmo, the red one is a wrap! Car is white but wrapped as Ligtning McQueen for a charity event for kids. I have 997rs gt2 carbon seats in my 4.0. There is probably slightly less headroom in the gt4 than my car. But definitely more headroom than 996gt3 with buckets. I'm 6.2 with tall torso so pleasantly surprised with the clearance in the gt4!

Hmm, I have trouble sitting in either car with a helmet and the seats as equipped (better in 997 than 996). Maybe I need a low-profile helmet

What seat are you getting?

I'll look at a low profile bucket with custom Alcantara cover of some type to get on the deck if needed. I'd like to keep sliders, the big downside is the side airbags, upside should be weight and headroom even over the factory buckets. You can get some nice ones for what the factory charges for the unavailable LWB option, ie:

Have the LWB's ordered, but worried that they may not go as low as I'd like (they do go 30mm lower than GT2 seats which is helpful, but those really sat too tall for me).

Those Racetechs look nice. I have customized Recaro Pole Positions in my 73 911 and they give great headroom (more than any modern Porsche).
