718 GT4 reviews thread
I thought that a single thread centralising all reviews of the 718 GT4 could be helpful. I will try to update this first post regularly with links to reviews that will be posted on this thread.

Andreas is the only guy who should be able to get away with leaning on the car as he does in the video, when he sits on the left front fender. I have a 40 year old memory of my father yelling at me not to lean on the car, as a young boy.

I had to laugh out loud at this one!

My favorite info by AP in that interview:
1) PDK confirmed to be coming in the future.
2) Porsche will build more GT4’s & Spyders than last generation to try and meet as much demand as they can. He said the introduction GT cars like these should be obtainable to any enthusiast that really wants one and Porsche is aware that many existing and potential customers are upset at how difficult it has been to get a GT car in the past.
3) AP said that dealers claiming to be all “sold out” already is true, but only because very few 2019 cars, but full production and lots of allocations coming for 2020 and possibly 2021.
4) Actual weight increase over previous 981 is roughly 30kg. Laws forced Porsche to change how they report weight, so in reality it’s not as big as an increase as it seems on paper.
5) Press drives and reviews coming next week from Scotland.
All in all great to hear. Hopefully I might actually get a new GT after all

I found it interesting how emphatic AP was about the LWB seats when asked about how he would spec the car and 'must have' options. Having owned several cars with sport seats over the years, I wasn't seriously considering them, given how hit or miss they seem to be with people. However, if I do buy a GT car that is not a daily driver, maybe I should reconsider. I sat in them recently at the dealership and they weren't as uncomfortable as I feared.

Torque/power curves
While we wait for those reviews, do you know if Porsche or anyone has made a chart showing the torque/power curves of the 981 and 781 GT4 next to one another?

Interesting indeed. Since the first 2019 cars will only be out at the end of the year and that it is only a “maybe” for 2021, so much for the 3-year production... they will have to make quite a few in 2020!

Engine HP and torque as digitised from official Porsche releases (note the 7800RPM reading for the 981 GT4 is missing - 345 HP and 229 ftlb)

and the money shot (above 4000 RPM)
