718 GT4 values
I get the sense from perusing the big GT4 thread that most people do not expect the 718GT4 values to follow the same trend that the 981 GT4 values did...in canada used gt4's initially sold for 30kish over the msrp.
Why is the expectation different for the 718GT4? The unlimited production?

Do we really know it's unlimited production, or just another way of saying a non numbered car which they will cap at demand -1 ?
If truly unlimited, that would eliminate the need for being on a waiting list which would help many of us. ADM too.

For the 981, Porsche increased production as demand was much greater than the original forecast (not the case for the Spyder). This did result in ADM for some as it was unclear as to how Porsche was approaching production. With the 991.2 GT3 and the upcoming 781 GT4, Porsche is signaling that they will build more cars. As a result, we should find a good dealer to work with, agree on MSRP and an allocation will come.

I think the market will continue to dictate the price. In Canada GT4's are not as readily available & far less cars came to Canada in the first place. Dealers continue to sell the cars very close to or a bit above MSRP & people are buying them.
Now the new GT3RS are here & plentiful b/c of production changes, they're already pricing close to MSRP

This car will not be anywhere near as popular as 981. Do not pay a cent over list for these cars. Production will be high, there is a manual gt3 now which is a much better car than this gt4, and the price increase compared to what you get is not good.

GT4s in Canada, at least last round, traded off the US pricing which kept big premiums to Cdn msrp here for a long time (still a premium maybe).
Keep in mind that Porsche Canada uses a 15% exchange rate when it’s actually almost 35%. The Canadian car is amazingly underpriced versus the US car. Once the 981 dealer cars were done, the used market followed the US pricing with the actual exchange rate.
If there are so many Cdn cars that the US market is irrelevant, maybe it’ll be different this time.

Seriously? The car was just announced around a week ago and value/ADM threads are already popping up....
Stressing about values isn’t worth it for non-numbered cars.
I’m more stressed which color I’m going to pick and if Porsche fixed the strut tower issue or not....

I bought my GT4 (used) with 1250 miles on it with CPO from the dealer for $1,000 less MSRP in November 2017.
Came with $5,000 of clear guard nano film and tinted windows.
I think production of the 718 gets ramped up far more than the 981.
And by the time the Spring of 2020 rolls around.... the U.S. could easily be in a Recession.
I'd never pay an ADM.

but i agree with you our GT4's were not produced in unlimited numbers as the new one is which gives ours more of a unique feel but thats my opinion

upgrade to the 718. I'm sure dealers will be at msrp or even discounted at that time.

Of course we are assuming the 718 GT4 will be a multi year production model......unlike the 981 GT4 (1 year).
