How does your replacement gearbox feel?
I picked my car up yesterday after the gearbox replacement. My gearbox was fine but it was under the technical bulletin and figured now was as good a time as any to have it done. The new gearbox is definitely notchy as compared to the original that had 4,6xx miles on it, particularly the third to fourth shift. I only drove it home a few miles from the dealer and hope that it smooths out with some miles.
Anyone else have early impressions of their replacement gearbox feel?

It feels just like the original gearbox did when the car was new! I could have done without the whole recall, and of course not having the third gear defect in the first place, but it’s a nice little feeling to drive the car with the tight, ‘snicky’ new gearbox. A little notchiness, especially when the car is cold.

Its definitely a tad "notchy".
Initially, after the car was serviced I had a very soft clutch pedal throw when the engine was cold (before starting).
It was so bad that the pedal would stick down near the floor.... and I would have to pull the pedal back up with my hand.
Low and behold, after a few drives the pedal softness disappeared and the normal stiffness came back. Must had some air in the system.

Feels fine. No issues or anything noticeable.

It's feels a little stiffer than the other one,not as fluid. But it's the same way the other one felt new compared to my first GT 4 that I had 4000 miles on. We'll see how it feels in a few thousand miles. Carl

Notchy is a good word for the new box, but it has loosened up a bit. But on mine, if was the clutch the feels different. The Clutch pedal towards the top when releasing, sometimes, I literally feel vibrations and gears spinning through the pedal where I have never felt that before. Seems to happens towards the top of the release on the downshift .

My new gearbox shifted noticeably better after the 20 or so miles I put on it yesterday. I bought my GT4 with 1,7xx miles on it so I have no idea how it felt when new, but I'm confident now that the new gearbox will improve with the miles.

Got mine replaced with recall procedure.. after it was already been replaced after 3rd gear failure curse. the last one is way more fluent. Nothing to mention, gears go like knife in butter.. The previous one was notchy..

Anyone experience any 1st to 2nd grinds especially if turning while shifting? One thing I noticed with my Cayman R, 981 Spyder and now the GT4 is that the car can grind during 1st to 2nd shifts at low rpms or if the rpms aren't rising at the point of clutch engagement. No manual Porsche I've had likes to upshift with the gearbox unloaded or at the rpm point right before the torque rises steeply. If that makes sense. No issue with any other gear change. My Z4M Coupe did the same, but that was a known issue of the car.
