Default PCCB to Steel - What pad feels like the stock steel setup?

I'm likely going to replace my PCCB discs with steel soon (girodisc).

I want to find a pad that performs and feels like the stock gt4 steel brake set up.

I don't go through pads very often, probably get to maybe 3-4 track days a year if I'm lucky the remainder of driving is back roads.

I want something with decent bite and modulation without the added dump truck squeal.

I looked at the other braking threads but wondered if there is a better set up in 2019

Thanks!

OEM pads appear to be very similar to Pagid Orange pads. FYI, OEM pads can squeal if cold.

I used Ferrodo DS2500 pads and Girodisc when I converted to iron rotors on my PCCB equipped GT4. I was very happy with the package. Removed them before trading the car. Still in the garage.

yeah I know but not consistently and very bad like some track pads.

Thanks all for the recommendations. I'll do some research.

Any comments on bite / modulation / longevity on your suggestions?

Looks like a pretty nice vote for ME20 here:

I'll likely go with those since my shop tends to favor endless products.

Are the PCCB calipers larger than the stock steel brake calipers?

Clark at Apex of Jeff Ritter can help. I think the steel pad has a smaller swept area but works in both calipers.

Ferodo DS 1.11 here. Might be overkill for you, but they don’t squeal much, wear well, and will flat stop your car. Had PFC also. Good pads but louder and less powerful than the Ferodo.

Plus 1 on DS1.11 but they can be noisey on the street. I've been running them for several years and tolerant the noise.
