Thoughts on this product? Has anyone installed these on your GT4?

In my opinion, if you study were the shock towers have failed in general, these will not help with the problem.

Numerous posts on this subject in another thread.
The only thing that these plates will do is keep the struts from going up through the hood, AFTER the tower has failed.
They dont address the primary issue.

Seems like the time is right for someone like DeMan or TPC or Wevo to come up with a cap that can be bonded and/or bolted to the upper portion of the strut tower with minimal disassembly. If the price is right, I suspect sales would be strong, just as they have been in the past with ARB reinforcements, 901 intermediate plates, etc etc.—not to mention various BMW chassis reinforcements. Whether it's needed or just peace of mind, there are a lot of people tracking these cars.

Hey, we miss you around here, Pete. You ready to ditch that baby-hauler and come back to the wild side?

Miss you cats, too, but I still have this forum bookmarked and haunt it from time to time.

Had my fun on the wild side for 14,000+ miles...and loved every one of them.

BUT: The ability to put my daughter in the back of a 911 > my love affair with the GT4, and I have to say the 914 feeds my mid-engined needs beautifully. If there's a next GT4, it will be a track-only affair...

What would be the best is a stamped steel cup insert that is bonded in from inside . Like how the factory reinforced the rear towers on the GT4. carl

Should I tense up and grit my teeth every time I bound over the bus stop rumble strips at the Glen?

I would actually rather do nothing to reinforce the strut tower. Reason being if it does fail and I have an aftermarket part on there, Porsche or my insurance company would be a lot less likely to help out compared to if everything was as it left the factory.
