Decided to trade my GT4 for a loaded 2015 991.1 GT3. And I was happy with the trade. Even more so after adding a set of Dundon headers. Shortly after, a 991.2 manual GT3 was offered to me. I accepted the deal and now have a 991.2 GT3 stripper. This car is a boat load of fun. At 1400 miles I have no regrets. The 6 speed is a ball to drive.

No rear seats in the GT3 Touring

Just in cast you need a little inspiration

Keep the GT4, GT3 does not worth the difference in $ for me, I was in the same situation and decide to keep the GT4 and added a 991.2 GTS, no regrets, this mid engine feeling is unique not comparable to the 911 (have driven Gt3, and my GTS has RAS). I mean GT3 is an awesome car (mostly the engine over 7k) but the difference in price does not justify a change for me.

If your looking at .1 cars the money difference now isn't that great between the two. I would do it just to try the other side out. You can always come back and buy another GT4. Life is to short for what ifs.

I (like many other GT4 owners) went the 991.2 GT3 route and and wouldn't look back. No reservations whatsoever, in fact conviction that I would do it all over again if I had to. While $ delta was not insignificant (I went all out with PtS and CXX but at least no ADM), to me it was very much worthwhile 'stepping up' to an added level of experience. Loved the GT4, but it was 'the car that could've been' (i.e. a more chassis-deservent engine, tranny, etc.) Perfect gateway drug that gets you itching for a stronger fix - Porsche at its best. In all candor, had there been no manual in the 991.2 than I would have stayed put (and gone the 4.25ltr DM upgrade).

As far as your 2nd question on 'value', I have no crystal ball nor personal view as that is not something I give much merit/consideration.

GT4 nice balanced sports car.
Engine: GT4 is boring, GT3 amazing.
Gearing: GT4 far to long, GT3 PDK perfect
GT4 rear suspension restrictet.

GT3 premium worth over GT4, yes!
GT3 bigger adrenaline hit every time you drive it!

I sold my GT4 after putting about 6'000 km on it & bought a 991.2 manual. The GT3 is amazing, but on balance it's not so amazing that it's worth the price delta to me (cost me an extra $ 155 k AUD on top of what I paid for the GT4).
With luxury car tax etc. we get royally screwed in Australia...

I don't think its a dollar choice, its about the level of enjoyment you get - which is often very dependant on where you drive it and the types and quality of the roads where you live. One size does not fit all - this is particularly the case with RS.

There are some amazing cars out there right now in the $150k range that are awfully attractive.
I own both with the 981 GT4 being first in the garage. I have been struggling (the struggle is real) to make a final decision to sell one over the other. This is a really difficult decision as my 981 is very unique and I adore it; however, I may have driven a maximum of 10 miles since purchasing the 991.1 GT3, so the GT4 is going.
Anyone interested send me PM. I am relocating from SoCal to NorCal, so depending on the interested party, it may prove wise to sell he car down there rather than bring it up.
The vehicles are currently stored at a high-end facility, and anyone can go look as they want. They will be gone from that location in approx 30-60 days.
If you do a little research you can learn much more of this vehicle in the Forum.
Thanks!

Well for less of the premium you'd pay for a GT3, you can just get a 4.5L conversion with Deman gears

Engine: GT4 4.5L bus lengths on a GT3 engine
Gearing: GT4 Deman gears perfect, GT3 PDK so your even grandma can drive fast
