Default GT3 Muffler Adapter, 321Stainless with Valves

Hi All,

Some of you are already aware of the kit, as it's necessary to get the most out of the recently released GT4 Intake Runners

Happy to announce our GT3 Muffler adapter kit!
  • Full 321 Stainless Steel construction
  • Valves sourced from Porsches OEM supplier
  • Full 2.5" from header flange to muffler outlet!
  • Muffler is attached to the back of the transmission and supported completely.
  • Straps are optional
This includes an option for 200cpsi catalytic converters. We did this so that our Race Headers on the GT4 could be catted.
The benefit to doing it this way, is you get to extract the most power possible and not lose much at all by putting the catalysts (in our tests even at very high power levels, it's only 3-4 whp).

You can add a Dundon Lifetime GT3 Muffler to the kit, or work to source an OEM GT3 muffler.

Good to see you're using flex couplings that don't wear out like the cheaper wire mesh wrapped ones.

Default I'm in

Super exciting and next steps for me. I cannot see a better approach to opening this engine up.

Beautiful looking work!

So to cut to the chase, if you're in a state where inspection includes visual confirmation of cats, you'd be looking at (in round numbers) $4,000 for the muffler, $4000 for the headers, and $3000 for the muffler adapter and cats? About $11,000 for parts? Am I leaving anything out?

You can get a take off used OEM 997/991 GT3 muffler for $500-$1000 if you watch for them. If you find one from a 991.2 GT3 the tips will even be the right length.

Is this due to different dimensions on the actual muffler or are they just longer bolt on tips? Maybe SharkWerks 100mm 991 GT3 tips would get the job done on a 997 muffler?

The 991.2 Tips are longer. I don't know if SW tips are long enough. 991.1 and 991.2 are slightly different lengths.

Our GT3 muffler and 991.2 Tips is perfect on the GT4...

That would be quite a giant pile of muffler adapters for a 991.2 GT3...

Anyone know how much weight, if any, this kit (and substitution of PSE with a GT3 muffler) saves compared with PSE? I already have Dundon headers but still using PSE, so I am asking how much more weight I would save if I converted to GT3 muffler and Dundon conversion kit.

@Shandingo I know PSE weighs quite a bit more than GT3 Conversion.. For what it's worth, my TPC over the axel pipes ~8 lbs each and the Ti muffler is less than 15 pounds... Before I get flamed, these are just my estimates based on my experience of lifting weights for many many years :P
