Dundon Intake Runners

So I know there has been talk of these... seem to be up and available on their website now! Jamie what's the skinny!?

Was just about to order some new mods for my other toy but maybe the money is better put towards the GT4!

You didn't let me sneak in with these on the site... Was trying to save myself a bit of work for later as I was adding other parts and didn't click the don't publish button!

This is the next phase for us... We've been doing R&D in this area for about 12 months now and the GT4 was the first one on the list (even though we already have a 997 3.8L out there with a prototype intake runner setup, but more on that later).

The same principles we use in our exhausts also works on the intake side, and the using the principles on both sides yield fantastic results. No data yet as we're confirming on a local customer car this week.

looking forward to seeing the data Jamie!

Would this be considered an alternative to the IPD intake plenum? Does this also address the smaller throttle body the GT4 came with from the factory? :)

We're changing the intake runners (it's why I called it that to not confuse it with the IPD center section). It's the intake runner length, cross section and volume that control the way the intake pressure waves bounce around in the intake. The center doesn't really come into play very much.

Consistent with our testing with just headers/tune, the center plenum, either IPD or Carrera S, doesn't make an impact on power. Further in our testing the stock throttle body is also not a restriction up to 400whp. We've tested both the Carrera S center section and throttle and the stock center section and throttle and there was no difference in power. Changing to a larger throttle body will make the car "feel" faster as at the same throttle angle a larger throttle body will allow more air into the car, the same as a larger throttle angle on a smaller throttle body. At full throttle if the throttle body isn't a source of pressure loss (a restriction) then it won't have an effect on the power the car produces... As we continue to find ways to increase the power of the GT4 engine there will be a time when we cross the threshold of the throttle body being a restriction.

Top explanation confirming what I was told already without understanding the full rationale.
I am also interested to see the results from your development.

Looking forward to seeing the results.

Should have some data tomorrow for everyone... This is V3 were confirming results on and the previous versions troughs were where our race headers and tune peaks were... let that sink in for a second...

You mean the intake runner change alone made same power as race and headers and tune would? So, then tune and headers with the intake runner change should be killer, if I picking up what you're putting down....

Adding the intake runners to a car with our headers and tune... it all works together! One sucking from the exhaust side, one cramming it in from the intake side

I looked for the appropriate emoji to show how hard this made me laugh but could not find it.
