Great tires for street and track. Your front size should be fine. But, the rears might be a tough fit.......

Yep, you will be fine. I currently have a 255/305 setup on my GT4. Will be moving up to the 265/305 setup next year however.

I run the Pirelli's DH Slick in 305....-2.5 camber but I did test it on the street at -2.0 and worked fine. These do run a bit narrow
Section wide on the DH 305 in 19" is 12", about 0.1" wider than the OEM MPSC2 and RE71R in 295/30-20, which is basically the same width.
The GT4 CS runs in 18" wheels 305/680 DHs which translate to a 12.1 section width and a diameter of 26.8", which is 0.2" lower diameter than OEM.
A RE71R in 305/30-19 has a section width of 12.3".......not sure how much wider you can go on the rear over 12" of section width.
I think I have read of a GT4 owner here that uses 315/30-19 R7s Hoosier on 11" Forgelines...those have an advertise section width of 12.5" but it has been mentioned they tend to run narrow too.

Glad you asked this. I’ve been wanting to try the RE71Rs as a cheaper and possibly more consistent track tire compared to the MPSC2s, but I’ve been concerned about the 305s fitting in the rear. I have 9” and 11” wide Forgelines, and I don’t want to run the narrower 245/285 RE71R setup that others have been. Once you run a 255 up front, you don’t want to go back. Let us know how it works out.

+1 on 255/305 19" RE71R's. I use OZ Leggera HLT’s, 100% stock suspension, just 5mm spacers in the rear. No problems at all.

Hi All,
Here are the GT4 rears in 19" and 20" to compare width and height. Am I wrong in seeing only .1" difference in tread width between the 20" cup2 295 , and the 19" re71 305? This should work with say 1.7deg neg in rear?
The 255/35 in front should also be fine as well?
Thank you in advance for any help.

I've run this set up at Laguna Seca for 2 track events and the result is good. No curbing or anything. Stock ride height.
