GT4 on Black Advan GT Wheels w/ Gtechniq Coating
Wheels: 20" Yokohama Advan GT Premium
Tires: Michelin Pilot 4S in OEM Sizing Coating: Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armor Suspension: Lowered on Stock Suspension I just installed my new wheels to add a touch of JDM flare to the car. I've always had a thing for simple 5-spoke designs. Rays / Volks / Advans are well recognized and being forged and lighter than OEM is a plus. The "premium" version has white machine engraved logos instead of a sticker. The fitment is spot on without any sign of being too sunk in or sticking out. The rears are a moderate concave face while the fronts are not for caliper clearance. Speaking of which, my only complaint is very conservative offsets on these wheels. The concavity angle and/or lip depth could have been much more appealing with more aggressive offsets. I can slide an entire finger between the rear calipers and spokes... almost a finger on the fronts. This is on standard steel Brembo's. I decontaminated and cleaned the wheels first with Adam's Wheel Cleaner. Applying Gtechniq's Wheel Armor was pretty simple, just time consuming. I bought the larger 30ml kit to coat all 4 wheel faces and barrels. I highly recommend having extra applicator pads (make up pads) as the ones in the box fall apart easily. I only used 1/3rd of the bottle for the whole job while applying generously. The liquid turns into tiny hard crystals if left out in room temperature so applying and wiping down one wheel at a time is important. I applied a layer of C2 Liquid Crystal the next day for additional shine and hydrophobic protection. Overall, I'm extremely happy with how these wheels change the overall persona of the car. While the OEM grey wheels whisper a classy look, these Advans project an aggressive stance that matches well with my catless LT headers, straight pipes, etc. I'll snap more pics once the weather cooperates. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...d0f660c2a.jpeg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...0c7c46c87.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...26c643c3c.jpeg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...ffb644d3a.jpeg |
Very nice ! maybe some Titanium studs to finish it off.
I'm a huge fan of Advan's, SSR's , Ray's, etc..all those manufacturers make phenomenal wheels. If you decide to sell your OEM's I'm interested. |
My favorite wheels for the GT4. Where did you buy them if you don’t mind me asking? |
Looks great. |
