Default Quick Review: RS1 Brake Pads for a GT4 Clubsport

Guys,

I have had the opportunity to use and test a number of brake pads in my CS over the last 2 years.

The brake system is unboosted, so leg gets a work-out, and there is an adjustment period for the additional effort.
  • PFC: ran through multiple sets of these from COTA to Road Atlanta. Lots of effort, wooden feel, linear, aching leg. Fast wearing, not too bad on the rotors.
  • Pagid: did a set of these, better initial bite, maybe up to 15 % less effort than PFC. An incremental improvement over PFC.
  • RS1 Friction One: Significant improvement over PFC and Pagid. More bite, but good modulation and linearity. Performs consistently when hot.
RS1 has been working with a mfg to develop these pads for their race team for some time now, as I understand it. Justin and Mike can hook it up if you are so inclined.

UncleJosh,
Its been a pleasure working with you and helping you tune your braking package to fit your needs. The dynamics of braking are a huge part of the balance characteristics of a chassis and we are happy to help with race proven data that has been acquired all over North America on the 981 GT4.

Josh - great to hear you’re still enjoying the car. Come back to AMP some time.
