Default Street only brake pad recommendations?

I'm a believer that you should always use the right tires and pads for the intended purpose. No all seasons... ever. Track pads for the track and street pads for the street.

The GT4 has pretty aggressive OEM pads that must be verging on a true track pad based on the significant brake squeal and the poor stopping performance when very cold. However, I also bet they are not the best track pad.

I'm thinking of actually going with a more dedicated track pad for HPDE days and a better, quieter street pad for daily use. I know it's a bit of a pain swapping pads on the GT4 but I don't really care... still would rather have the right pad for the use all of the time.

After some research, I think the best options for the GT4 would be...

1. Brembo TS25
2. Racing Brake XT910
3. Ferodo DS2500 (this pad might have some light HPDE capability too)

Wondering if others have experience with any of the more street oriented pads? Largely around pad bite when cold and squeal/noise level.

Is it already that cold in where you live that you can tell that brake pad performance is comprised? If it is then its probably too cold for the tires as well since they shouldn't experience temps below 40 deg F. Tires have a significant contribution to braking performance.

It was over 80 deg here today I don't find the pads bite really strongly until they get heat in them regardless of outdoor temps but it's also the noise level. I'd rather have a street pad for the street because no one is exceeding the operating limits of a performance street pad on public roads so more aggressive brake pads on only needed on a track. On the street, some of the noise and bite characteristics are less than optimal with a more aggressive pad. I come back to, if the pain of swapping isn't a problem, I'd pick the best overall pad for the driving situation.

Try some hard braking to wear off surface glaze from street driving. This should help with noise and pedal feel.

I have the Endless ME-20’s on my GT4 and they are pretty good dual purpose pads. Offer the initial bite you are looking for and have never let me down on track days. No sequeling.

Alekshop sells them.

I installed Ferodo DS2500s along with a set of Girodisc rotors on my PCCB equipped GT4. No problems on the street. The pads work fine for me with occasional track use.

I use my GT4 50/50% and have found that the PFC 11s are a good compromise...our tracks are short so I do prefer a pad with good initial bite and don't have to worry a lot about pad/rotor life.
The PFCs 11 squeal less than the OEMs and will offer better initial bite....so they are good for 100% street use.
Was wondering a bit about the Ferodos but was advise these do aqueal more and need a bit more heat

I never had any squealing with my Ferodo DS2500s.
