You are making a pretty big assumption that we can't. You know what they say about assumptions...

The pedal setup for H&T on the GT4 is far from ideal. Yes it can be done but its is pain is the A. Now before you think this guy cant H&T, I also have the Cayman S 2010 + PCCB, H&T on that car is as perfect as you could ever want. I Always H&T in the CS every downshift, and I shift wvwn when I dont really need to.
As for the GT4, I enjoy the auto blip, I dont always need a "chalenge". Also it makes the car faster at the track because you can shift super quick.

Does anyone know if our cars are equipped with "no lift shift" like the 991.2 GT3 has ?

Geez. This is a sub forum for a car that was ONLY offered in a manual and you post this crap.

Agree with phk - the rev match is fun and enhances the driving experience.

Good thing is, it works on all throttle positions and at all revs in the .2 GT3, so you don't have to risk too much (or even anything) to find out.

(the functionality is described in the owner's manual for the GT3 and if it isn't for the GT4, well...)

Not in 981, but rumoured to possibly be available in 718 GT4, option code PDK.

I just went for a quick spin in the M2 to remind myself why I found it inferior to GT4 auto blip.

The best way to describe it is the M2 does an actual blip whereas the GT4 quickly applies throttle and holds it at that level until your completely in gear. Spirited/track driving you wouldn't notice the difference, but when you are just cruising around town / rolling into a stoplight the GT4 version gives you a better experience.

The GT4 nails it harder / revs quicker. I am guessing that part maybe due to NA. The sound is definitely 100x better in GT4.

You are being generous... the sound is 1,000x better! I joke to some extent, the M2 was the best sounding BMW I have owned from the factory... the GT4 is, however, on another level.

As I said, it works at all throttle positions and engine speeds. You're assuming a WOT shift, but it is possible to drive at constant car speed, without moving the right foot, just press clutch and select new gear (up or down), the engine will rev match. The key is to keep throttle pedal completely still, that's what triggers the function. Obviously it wont work when braking for a corner since you will be off throttle. Then it's back to heel/toe. Or switch on SPORT.

I admit though, even if I know I have the function and it works, I will not use it in WOT accelerations / gear shifts near the red line. If for some reason the function gives up at that point... Not so much fun anymore.

On the street, no you should just feel guilty pleasure.
On the track, yes you should be ashamed! No joke, if you want nannies on the track you are only cheating yourself.

I believe the 350z was the first production car to be available with auto blip. Can anyone compare the gt4 with the 350/370 auto blip? Would like to hear comparison to corvette as well. I've driven all of them, but only in passing so nothing close enough to be able to make a comparison.
