Your GT4 is coming along great Brian, and in good company with six others getting similar builds. I'll shoot you some pictures shortly, it's a GT4 party over here haha : )

Here are some photos of Brian hitting Sebring before dropping his car off, moving along quite well for his first time on track with it I might add!

I love 911s of all stripes, and have owned most of the flavors, but as ajw says right above, try this thought experiment: Purge your mind of "expectations" and then imagine that Porsche had kept the formula of their very first car, a mid-engine 2-seater, all these years and the Cayman/Boxster line had been the Porsche icon since 1948. Now, in an attempt to capture the mommy/daddy market they decided to stretch the Cayman, stick the motor behind the rear wheels, elongate the rear glass, and squeeze a backseat in. Just imagine what the commentary would be; "Very nicely made car, but MAN is it homely! Such a shame to do that to it just to fit a nearly useless rear seat in there."

Reminds me of this comparison from 50 years ago:

ORIGINAL 2-seater:

Congratulations on your upgrade! I guess the GT4 is more powerful, quicker, and more fun.

Excellent comments NoGaBiker.
Peter Schutz can be blamed for the continuation of the 911, and now that Porsche also makes trucks and cars, how many people actually use the back seats?

Thank you! And to be fair I don't really blame Schutz, as the alternative in 1980 wasn't Cayman/Boxster, but rather 928/924, so 911 was well worth saving.

Maybe we can liken it more to Ferrari's model over the last 25 years. Keep the high-buck, front-engined V12 2+2 GT that's more luxurious and roomier, but still a helluva good performer, but also develop the V8 middie from its humble roots (badged as a Dino rather than a Ferrari) into THE fire-breathing track weapon in the company's portfolio. V12 sales stay strong as that car appeals to a certain demographic, and V8 sales grow strong. Nobody (at least nobody I know) looks at the buyer of a 458/488 and thinks, "Oh, so you couldn't afford a REAL Ferrari?"

I preferred the front middle engine 944 to the 911 back then, so at least they were on the right track.
No reason they can't put the engine in the right place as evidenced by the RSR, maybe as a F8 model above the 911.

Yeah, that would be sweet. When rumours of the 9XX, Ferrari killer with F8, surfaced a few years ago, I thought that was a great next step. Didn't want one, but thought it was a logical place to go to carry the performance banner forward.

So far no regrets.... and I can testify I will Never miss those center lock wheels. The GT3 was a great car. Had right at 45,000 miles and during that time it never had one single repair. Just the recalls and lots and lots of maintenance. Hope the GT4 is this reliable. And yeah, the GT4 is gorgeous!

I forgot to include that with a few extra Porsche parts on the car, it will really shine & with passing 997.2 GT3's on the track, you won't miss it as much.
